I stumbled across this "Personalize Your Own Sonic Screwdriver set on Amazon. It looks ... interesting.
Does anyone have it, and if so, is it worth getting?

it's a pity theat there iaren't the bits to build something more like the 3rd/4th/5th/7th/8th Doctor version as well.
They're pretty sturdy. I mean you don't want to throw them as hard as you can against a wall or anything, but they're about as durable as the sonics for the various Doctors. I've carried two different combinations in my jacket pocket this week without any problems. Please let us know how sturdy this is. I'd be interested in getting something like this, but if it's going to fall apart on me, I'd rather not.
Tempting but I think I'll be passing. And I just discovered that my 10th's sonic is dead. Lights, no sounds. Replaced the batteries but still no sound. And all it had done is sit on a shelf in the closet for the past year. Time to toss it. More plastic in a landfill sadly. Can't give a broken toy to Goodwill. That's just wrong.

Convert it into the exploded one from 11th hour...

Sound cards going dead in electronic toys after a long period of non-usage can sometimes happen, and not just in Doctor Who toys (one of my Star Wars lightsabers is slowly going silent).Tempting but I think I'll be passing. Nope. It's a closed configuration head part that can be attached to different middle and end parts to create other new kinds of sonics. It does feature the same green light-up element though.A question to the people who have this kit. Does the 11th's screwdriver head expand like this sscrewdriver?

You must be talking about the earlier individually sold 11th Doctor's sonic toy. The disassembled one included in the Personal Sonic Screwdriver set does not feature an expandable head, though.Yes.A question to the people who have this kit.
