inspired by sojourner I thought I'd give this 3d drawing lark a try. this is my first attempt at a ship in D so I've no idea how it'll turn out, hopefully it'll be as good as a few others I've seen any ways heres a few starting pics I've still got a lot of work to do on her so these are just work in progress hopefully as time allows I'll post a few more. also I'll try to flesh out a back story on the class also as time goes on and on and on and....

I've also added an experimental texturing on some of the hull which is why the coloring looks incomplete. It's based on the Aztec type of markings from the enterprise a.
i've not locked down an excact size on the vessel yet or crew though at present i'm working on a crew of 4 though that may change. era? umm about the early part of the dominion war at present.

Nice, keep going. You know you can scale up the texture by choosing to edit it from the paint window. That might help it look more like panels than the mottled paint it looks like now.

I like your "greebles", hehe.

just a little upgrade to the Perry. I've enlarged the cockpit to better accommodate the crew of 2 rather then four which seemed a bit much for a vessel this size
I've done away with the Aztec for now, wasn't too happy with it, I'll have to experiment on a few color schemes first.
will defiantly have to get round to doing a back story on her also have an idea that the wings will be similar to the Klingon bird of prey horizontal when on the ground are landing and up right when stored in a base or ship.
i have an idea for a diorama type thing using another fighter design maybe I'll do a hanger deck not sure yet.

Galactic Squirrel - Interesting design. I like it.

One thing I can suggest in the way of the hangar deck is a space saving idea. I am sure that you have seen pictures of navy carriers with the aircraft all parked and all of the wings are either folded up (like the F/A-18) or swept back (like the F-14). While on the F-14 it served a functional purpose (swept back for higher speeds, full out for lower speeds), most of the time it was just to save space. I know it will be difficult to do, but you might want to at least consider having the wings fold all the way up (rather than straight out) so that you can fit more of them in the hangar area.

Just a thought. Keep up the good work.:techman:
