First you judge them on how they act and if they are childish or not, then you look at how they fit you, and then the very last thing that you look at is their looks.

The answer should be: "Personality and how that person fits you."

However, the Reality in today's world is: "Looks"

Agreed 100%.
Its okay though if the person is just slightly bouncing off the walls, that kind of energy may seem childish to others but can lift that person who fits them up, make a good start to your day.

Upon first meeting someone you have little else to go on, so of course looks are going to play the most significant role in how you judge them. But I'm a very talkative individual, so that wears off fast for me. It usually doesn't take long to find out if the good-looking person I wanted to be around is, in fact, duller than dirt to actually talk to. In terms of romantic attraction, I have only ever been interested in girls I'd known long enough to see how our personalities matched up.

Same here. Though there was this one girl, I was instantly drawn to, to this day I don't know why.

Well, looks help with first impressions, but I'd want to get to know them. It helps that I can normally tell what kind of personality they've got pretty soon after I've met them.

If a guy is cute with a nice smile, obviously I want to get to know him more than someone who is unkempt or mean looking. Beyond that, they must have a good personality as I get to know them better. Some of the cutest guys can be real jerks so looks are NOT everything.

In professional situations, I do not care what a person looks like; I do judge them on how they dress or conduct themselves.

Even if the cute smile weighs 400 pounds?

Personally, I have never seen a cute guy who weighed 400 pounds. IMO, they are mutually exclusive, but we could be friends.:techman:

I didn't mean un-clean.

Take me for instance I am a 3.
I have crocked smile/laugh. I have a weird looking and sometimes visible bump onto my head. But I am a nice guy in my opinion. Not perfect though.

Intelligence, personality, ability to make me laugh, 'niceness' ~ I'm old enough now to realise looks really don't count.
I don't particularly like vain people ~ I always think they are hiding something, like a peacock concealing his rather small brain

Looks will fade but how you are, what you are, will only grow.

Yeah I was telling myself today when I had the idea for this thread that not matter how I change my body, my face will be the same, Kenny will always be Kenny, God help the person who ends up with me right?

I often notice loos first of course. That can quickly become irrelevant if the person in question is an idiot. Especially if it's a woman. A hot idiotic girl is very unattractive, but a decently attractive, nice and smart girl is definitely someone I want to know. And yeah I said decently attractive, but as said, you have to be interested in the first place. Personality keeps you interested.

While looks factor in the least for me, they are the first thing I notice. Sometimes I can see someone who looks beautiful, and my first thoughts are that I hope she's sweet and funny. Looks do play a role, I would be lying if I said they didn't, but someone's personality changes my perception of their physical appearance.

The old adage is true that beauty is skin deep and ugly goes straight to the bone, it's just that it doesn't quite work the same way others may use it. I become attracted to people who are very human, and in the process, I often bypass what they look like on the outside. So suppose someone who looked like, say, Salma Hayek, were to ask me out on a date. I'd be VERY interested, but if she had terrible personality traits, I would find her to be quite ugly.

Now that I think about it, I'm pretty certain there was a movie based on this idea.

I think anybody who says they don't care about looks is lying. I look at how someone looks, but I don't judge them by it. I don't care about looks really all the much, it comes into last place. I just love natural beauty.

Surgery? Why does everyone always pretend surgery does not exist?

Anyway, you forgot the third option for your poll: how rich is this S.O.B.?
