Penn and Teller's Bull$#!+!

I don't have Showtime at home so I've been watching the current season of Penn and Teller's Bullshit on my parent's cable system's Showtime OnDemand.

I'm always impressed with how Pen and Teller put together these episodes and make their points and from the episodes I've watched this season seems like it's been one of their stronger ones. I've watched the episodes on Astrology, Violent Video Games and the 2012/Mayan Calendar Prophecy.

The Violent Video Games one was really good with a great speech from Penn at the end of the episode -capped with the young boy they got to shoot a real gun (to test if violent videogames really "train" kids to be killers) crying in his mother's arms after firing one shot from a high--powered rifle.

This for me has always been a pretty good series -I think the last couple seasons have been lacking- but this season, from what I've seen so far, seems pretty darn good.

I thought the video game one was a complete joke, they could have done so much more with that topic but blew it.

Well, I just liked the "emotional impact" at the end of the child crying after firing the gun. Obviously playing violent videogames doesn't turn kids into killers. And Jack Thompson went on a show called Bullshit?!

They could've, yes, done more with the topic but it's only a 30min show so I guess they've got to cut corners. But they seemed to proove their point more or less.

That's my problem, they didn't make fun of Jack Thompson enough! he let's his under age teenager play all the violent video games he hates. He sent hardcore gay porn to a judge, the guy is insane!

Love this show, although don't have showtime anymore, but I used to watch the earlier ones. The bottle water one is the one I remember the most. They set up a fake restaurant that specializes in water. They supposedly had all kinds of different, great tasting kinds of waters from around the world. There was a "water steward" that served these delicious types of waters......

When in reality it was a guy in the back with a garden hose attached to the sink! It was clean, don't get me wrong, but it was just the tap water for the building. Ever since then, I drink tap water all the time.

Now that I've seen it and love it I am considering going back and rewatching some previous episodes. Any really great ones that you guys suggest? Which seasons are the best?

Some parts of the orgasm episode were a little...disturbing.

These guys are pretty hit or miss.

I've seen almost every episode, and sometimes they use their own bullshit to get their point across.

Yeah, the orgasm episode was pretty unsettling. My father watched it with me, I'm 30 and I still felt uncomfortable during that.

I loved the "squirt" sound they obviously edited in when the older homely woman at the end came.

I'd reccomend many of the episodes from the first season, the aformentioned episode on bottle water is a good one.

Yeah. The circumcision episode was odd. There was more cock in that episode than there is in Elton John's basement.

I liked the feng shui episode a lot.
