Would Paul McGllion made a better Scotty

I wanted Paul to play Scotty badly.

Oh, no no. I love Simon Pegg's Scotty and felt he did a fantastic job. I would much prefer him over McGillion.

I think they should have cast Doohan's son as Scotty. He looks a lot like his father in his short cameo.

I don't think it would have worked. We needed a completely clean slate, and as much as I like Chris Doohan, I just wouldn't be comfortable with it.

If Scotty had been written as the more serious Scotty from the series, then McGillion probably would have been better, but as a comedic character, I think Pegg nailed it. I doubt McGillion could pull that off.
