The same could be asked of Michael McIntyre, too.

Basically, he's one of a million British comic actors you'll never have heard of if you don't watch British television, yet in Britain he's as big as Steve Carrell. In Doctor Who, he was one of the show's major guest stars last year (and he's coming back to the show this year). Basically he's Russell Brand before Russell started making films in Hollywood.
