Pairing up episodes...

Way way back in the early 80s, I think, they came out with syndciated versions of Battlestar Galactica. And two make a couple showings appear to be 'two hour episodes' (with commercials added) they would take two unrelated episodes, do a couple editing jobs, and make it seem like it was just one big episode.

One of these, I think, was when they took LIVING LEGENDS part one and two (which to me, features the only REAL Commander Cain) and edited in scenes from the episode where there was a fire on the galactica, and made it all seem like one big episode..

What two episodes of a Star Trek series do you think you could merge together, and make it seem like two an entire big episode just with simple snip here or there?

Well, obviously that was the only real Commander Cain. NuBSG featured Admiral Cain, not Commander.

How about this...


After Kirk has his showdown with the Gorn, and the 'girly' looking dude shows up and congradulates kirk for not killing the Gorn, we splice in new audio of the girly dude telling Kirk he is free to explore the planet. Stock footage of the Enterprise as it enters orbit. Kirk beams up, and then..whamo...we are in the teaser of that goofy episode where the universe has a giant 'quake' and it is centered on that planet below. Kirk beams down and..presto..Lazrus is there!!

Yeah, it's dumb and uninspired. Do better.

I'm not saying it's a good idea, and I like the first a lot better than the second, but I reckon with some clever editing you could turn DS9 Things Past and Wrongs Darker than Death or Night into one huge Kira-and-Odo-go-back-in-time episode.

Wow..that is a good pick. You could easily re-arrange those scenes and make it work..good one..

What about pairing Journey to Babel (tos) with Sarek (TNG) via a narrative that told one story (Sarek) while telling Babel introspective narrative while Picard is in Sarek's body...

2) A TOS and TNG multiple blending, scenes of LaForge endlessly bombing with women, inter-cut with scene of Kirk as a scoring machine.

3 ) Charlie X, The Changeling, Is There in Truth No Beauty?, Let That Be Your Last Battlefield. These are all "bottle shows."
Cut them all together, show Kirk frantically running around the ship trying to deal with Charlie, Nomad, Jones, etc. Confusion as Nomad, Bele and Laurence Marvick all take over the ship in turn.

DS9 Hard Time and Tribunal: O'Brien is in the "prison" for some time and wakes up (the first scene in Hard Time). He returns to DS9. Cut to him going on vacation with Keiko and being captured and tortured by the Cardassians. Poor O'Brien...
