Painting

Wow, I wish I could see a higher-res version of that. The detail on the dress is amazing enough, but the trim on the jacket is very intricate as well. Very nice.

I hope I won't have fire rained down upon me for bumping this thread but I finished a few other paintings I wanted to share:

The third dress I ever painted got eaten by the owners doggies so I repainted it and I found the whole thing so funny I had to paint the scene of destruction as well.

This painting is going over the fire place in our first house (it's the first ever big honkin painting I ever made)

^^ That is really nice artwork. I love the detail work and the shading. :bolian:

Not by me; I'm too happy to see new paintings. :D

Wow, that's great. The silhouettes are perfect, and I love the sky and the intricate branches.

Cool. At first I thought it was on sandstone or something; it looks very Native American.

Now that's just amazing. Coincidentally, I was just reading about Betelgeuse...

I made another painting but it's completely different from all the others. It has trees, lots of color, and birds.

That's nothing like the bright blue with lots of trees paintings. No birds, see:

^^ I'm completely unfamiliar with Final Fantasy, but those are impressive package designs.

You do like birds and trees, don't you? :D I like all the different positions that the flying birds are in here. :bolian:

I got to have my weird wedding paintings attacked by anonymous commenters. Can I hire you RJ to come to my defense? And maybe TSQ, she seemed to like them as well I seem to remember.

You've got some real talent, blablover5.

I can't paint at all, but I do like doodling when I'm bored.

^ I like your doodling. I always use patience when it comes to so much detail.

Thanks to melancholymecha and RJDiogenes. :)

Wow, that's amazing! Trees and birds are so very difficult to paint.

^I myself find nature easier to draw/paint compared to inorganic or mechanical objects.

Human anatomy remains out of my reach though...

It's possible that you may find my name among the Posters there.

Psychedelic. Groovy. I like it. :bolian:

You're quite welcome. :)

It's the opposite for me. People, faces and bodies, were the first thing I ever learned to draw and have always come naturally to me. I find scenery much, much more difficult to draw than individuals.

I'll have to have a look as well. I do love your pictures, blab.

My drawings are in an album in my profile. Most of the stuff in there I have posted previously, but not all.

It's like that for me as well. People and animals living are, to me, the easiest, then scenery and inorganic objects. (Especially clothes! Drapery is hard.)
That's exactly why I think that blablover's picture are so fantastic. :techman:

Edit: Mimic, you apparently mastered drapery! These are great. :)

ha, I was drawing animals since I was a toddler but I didnt try humans until much later & found it very difficult. Ive gotten better, but never been as good at drawing people as with animals. I also do better with nature oriented backgrounds than cityscapes and buildings/architecture...

I don't do well with faces. Of course, I have a very cartoony style and I'm untrained, having spent much more time on my writing than my art.
