^Unless the "Party of Five" is Picard, Crusher, Jack, Vash, and Q, probably not. Unless you saw some sort of parallel, "General TV and Media" would be the forum for that...or unless it naturally flows into one of our usual OT conversations.

[Seriously though, there is a GHSS reason why I posted that "Party of Five" remark of mine. Key scenes of that episode, as I alluded to in my "young dude" remark above, are still in my head even after a decent sleep. ]



There may be parallels with "Attached," too. I can't make heads or tails out of the last lines in the 30th minute of the episode "Something Out Of Nothing" (after the kiss):

So what happens now?

GREER
Oh, Bailey...

BAILEY
I know what I want.

GREER
Let's just say that it's something we both really want, but as two adults, [we just not better of it???].

[Maybe the script called for a deliberately confusing and grammatically incorrect last part there, but they hold hands up close. The next scene has the two of them coming in, laughing before Charlie Salinger, the oldest of the siblings, grills the "single, free-spirited" Greer Erikson about her unintentional problem-causing actions.]

^Yeah, Crusher bangs some dude who had a crush on her back when she was the head of Starfleet Medical and he was doing a residency or something. Picard was going to her room to have breakfast or something, and he watched this younger guy come out adjusting his clothing. Picard walks in, sees Beverly is dressed, but that both sides of her bed are unmade. He gets upset, thinks something like Well, I've lost my claim, she's moved on..., and then pretends that nothing is wrong.

God damn it, why does he always do that?! Why does he internalize?!

Especially with that confusing dialogue in square brackets, does the scene parallel "Attached," or does it parallel that relaunch novel scene you mention?

It more parallels the scene in Attached.

I didn't actually watch it, no. But, based on the dialogue and your description, it sounds much closer to Attached than the scene in A Time to Heal.

And even without watching it, the rejection appears to be awkward-much like the one in Attached

^^^ Still, I'm not sure if Greer rejected Bailey. After all, she did the advances (in spite of the fact that she met him before while he was just a kid). She kissed the young lad on his forehead after chatting with him about dealing with the breakup from his date and insisting that she "set him up" with who would turn out to be his childhood playmate (from 7:30 to 9:00).

[That date didn't turn out to be interesting for him, BTW.]

From 17:10 to 18:30, she chats with him about that date, and reminisces about someone similar to Bailey that she fell in love with during her college years. She then kisses him on top of his forehead - again.

The big part is brief, from 19:55 to 20:15, where he enters the bathroom and inadvertently sees her nude (frontal). However, as per the conversation above, he will remark later that he was surprised she didn't turn around.

In the next scene, she leaves the kids in the middle of the night after a conversation with Bailey. Of course, Bailey knows better and chats with a friend of his, who encourages him to chase her to her hotel suite.

Upon entering Greer's hotel suite, there's stuff that leads to the conversation above. After Bailey finishes his glass of water, Greer holds his hand up.
