Could just be coincidence, of course.
Some great suggestions!
My personal listing-
Moorcock's Elric of Melnibone' - doubt it would stand much of a change considering how dark Elric is, I can just imagine a network OKing a show whose main character is sometimes called 'Woman Slayer'
You might be right...Some great suggestions!

Years back maybe not but I'm not so sure now. There's plenty of dark material on TV now. And I haven't read the books in a long time but he earned that soubriquet with an assist from Stormbringer, no? I think that would pass OK.
Sapphire and Steel!
Reportedly, there's a new TV version in the works.
^Seriously? How did I NOT know this?! I can't wait to see what the new one is like. But they will have to find a male lead as beautiful as young David McCallum (a very tall order, that) to make it work for me.
Ever since I was a teenager (circa the paleozoic era), I have wanted to see a big screen, big budge, beautiful version of The Stainless Steel Rat book series. I think the technology has finally caught up to do these stories justice. It has "Hollywood Blockbuster Franchise" written all over it--an antihero with his own code of ethics, dark humor, adventure, family --er--"togetherness?". I guess the fact that I loved these so much says a lot about my deeply warped sense of humor.
That looks kind of fun, in a goofy, cheesy kind of way. Is it available on DVD or streaming anywhere?I'd love to see what a movie remake could do with Otherworld.
Then again, it might not even need a "remake" as such. With very little rewriting, Otherworld could easily be made part of the Stargate franchise.
Apparently NBC is remaking Xena from what the news (HLN) said this morning.
I think Warner Bros. has the rights to the Pern books, but I haven't heard any reports of movement on that property recently.
Movies based off of the Dresden Files or the Iron Druid Chronicles books would be cool.
Unfortunately, the Dresden brand has been tarnished by the failed TV series. Would be cool though.
Thundercats. I still think they could make a kickass movie out of that.
3rd only to Transformers and He-Man, the 80s cartoon I most wanted a GOOD live action movie of is Bravestarr. I don't know how they'd handle a robot talking horse.
Gargoyles.
Seriously.
How has this hot happened yet?
I wouldn't mind a well-written update on seaQuest. Especially given the problems of drought in California, and the progressively worse deterioration of our weather systems and climate change. The science-y side of seaQuest might be able to touch on those issues in a way other franchises wouldn't.

That rumor is being widely circulated, but, alas, Lucy Lawless has already debunked it, claiming that it's just "wishful thinking" at this point.
Not that this is stopping the "news" from speaking all over the internet . ...

Variety is not in the habit of wild rumor-mongering and it's reported the same.

I've been wishing for many years that someone would do a movie of The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. The Moon is a harsh Mistress
Other than William Hurt's abominable "performance" as Duke Leto and Susan Sarandon's ridiculous casting as Julie Cox's younger sister(!) - not to mention hammy acting - what would you suggest as a better way to do Dune on TV?...I'd still like to see new/better movie (or more likely TV) versions of:
Dune
