On the cusp of 50 and still enjoy TV and movies greatly. In the past eighteen months there have been two stand out classic mini series (IMO) in The Haunting of Hillhouse and Chernobyl, there are shows I've got into and loved, Glow, Ozark, The Expanse (which is truly fantastic) iZombie, Marianne, and there is, of course, Better Call Saul. Plus old standbys like Dr Who (though not loving it as much as I once did) Line of Duty (and The Bodyguard, anything by Jed M basically) Strictly, and of course Disco and Picard. And I'm still persevering with TWD (and it's probably better now than it's been for several years)
I've seen plenty of dross, or plenty or things that were ok while I was watching them but quickly faded from memory. And I am getting better at dropping things if they don't keep my interest, like that god awful Katee Sackhoff sci-fi thing, or Sabrina (which I may go back to, I don't hate it but tonally I'm not sure who it's aimed at and hour long episodes seem to drag).
Film wise in the last year alone I've really enjoyed Parasite, Jumanji 2, Little Women, Knives Out, Joker, Rocketman, Endgame, Shazam and others. Obviously seen some meh films and some dross films at the cinema but on the whole I can still find something to enjoy in most films (really liked The Rise of Skywalker.)
Yes there's too much content which means you can't watch everything, and yes sometimes it means going outside your comfort zone (last year at the flicks I watched Rambo Last Blood, Downton and Ad Astra in the space of two weeks and if you'd told me beforehand that the only one of the three I'd enjoy would be bloody Downton I'd have laughed in your face

)
I dunno, as someone who still remembers only having Next Gen and Twin Peaks to watch in the early nineties outside of soaps the only problem I have is finding time to watch things nowadays.
Oh crap and forgot to add Killing Even, Fleabag, Good Girls, The Mandolorian...
