OT: Announcing ONLY SUPERHUMAN, my first original novel!

Saw it on the shelf at a local book store during lunch. Bought it. Probably be a few weeks before I get to it but looking forward to it.

Good point actually, I should have recalled e.g. the boxing discussion not so long ago :). It's terribly late over here ...

Edit: Just found this chuckle-worthy description in a Goodreads review: "There's also a fair amount of sex and nudity in the book. None of it overtly graphic in its description, but what it may lack in description, it makes up for in quantity."

After yet another apparently spontaneous sex scene, I wondered "Geez, don't these people do anything about birth control or STI's?"

Then I realized the answer.

"There's probably a mod for that." :borg:

There are probably injections for long-term contraception, much as Sisko and Kasidy alluded to late in DS9. And there are most likely immunizations or easy treatments for STDs (or whatever they're calling them now). But yes, there are mods for enhanced immune systems, biological or nanotech (or a mix of both).

I downloaded this to my Kindle last night and can't wait to get around to reading it. Congratulations Christopher! The sample alone met my expectations about this book.

Christopher, I'm not one to comment on a book until I finish reading it, but with the upper respiratory gunk I got going on right now, I'm reading in shorter increments than usual. With that said, I wanted to give you some early feedback. I've gotten to Chapter 5 and I'm really enjoying it so far.

I'm hoping to start tonight when I get myself into bed. I was wondering, any plans for annotations? :)

I just checked out the copy that I got my library to purchase, and I'm enjoying it very much so far. By the way, I just noticed that it received a starred review and was listed as the "Debut of the Month" in the October 15th issue of Library Journal. Congratulations on that, and hopefully that will help sales.

Thanks for the alert! I hadn't seen that review yet.

Wow, that's great news! This is the best review I've gotten yet. Thanks, Library Journal! And thanks, comsol, for bringing it to my attention! :)

You're welcome. I've been looking forward to this book since you first mentioned it. Back when I was first actively reading comics (mid 70's to mid 80's) I was pretty much a DC reader, except for the Marvel Handbook series that came out in the early 80's. I loved the diagrams of the equipment and the "scientific" explanations of the various superheroes and their powers - even if it was still basically comic book science - so this book is right up my alley.

Just finished it. It was pretty good. Definitely read like Christopher. I really hope there's more to come. It would be cool to see more of this world. Congrats on getting this published.

Christopher...I was wondering if you had any idea yet if there will be a paperback release for Only Superhuman? I bought the Kindle version (which I've yet to get to) but was curious if there are any plans for such a thing? (apologies if this has already been brought up).
