Orphan Black - Season 2 Discussion

"I need a piece...maker". Allison is such a stick up the butt badass. Love her.

Tatiana's performance of Rachel is yet another fully realized character completely separate from the other clones. The character is even better in the season premiere than in the last episodes of last season.

I'm glad Sarah is no longer pretending to be Beth for Art and jis partner. It increases the intrigue that the two cops know, especially Art. I also like the actor who plays Art. I love it when a role may not call for versatility but the actor can make his/her character appear to be exactly who the character is supposed to be.

Great start. If the episodes generally stay of this quality, I expect Mazlany will get that Emmy nom.

I like Art too :adore:. Must be tough for him; losing his partner, then having her doppelganger still in his life. Especially as his new partner is a bit....sullen.

Enjoyed the season premiere, but imagine will get more interesting as develops. Alison is still a hoot though :)

I wonder if he likes Sarah more than Beth? Everyone seems to like Sarah more than Beth. Poor Beth.

Maybe Beth should get some Webisodes?

That would be cool. I'd also like to see more about the Russian that took one in the head last season. Or what of the clones that were already dead before the show started? It would be neat to get to know them too.

I think she was German, if you mean this one who was shot in the car near the beginning.

She had a distinct Eurotrash air to herself.

I was making a guess, turns out I was wrong. And yes, that is the one I was thinking of. There are a few others that we only saw pictures of in Beth's briefcase that I think would be worth exploring more of.

According to the Orphan Black wiki, not counting Beth or Katja (the one I mistakenly thought was Russian), there are three clones that we never met but were assumed to be dead when Sarah found their information in Beth's briefcase. Maybe something worth exploring in webisodes (as you suggested) or even a comic book mini-series?

Rather than her just being another clone she's actually Sarah's sister.

Just to be clear, where are you getting this from? As far as we know, they are all clones and we haven't been told who is the original yet? Did I miss something last season or are you just putting more weight on crazy Helena's ranting than may be warranted?

Out of my ass, apparently :p

There's no denying though that there's something different about Sarah and Helena from the other clones since they were both carried to term and given birth to by Amelia (the woman that Helena kills in the season 1 finale). Yes I realize she was probably just a surrogate for the eggs, but both Sarah and Helena have a different bond than they do with the rest of the clones.

Sarah and Helena are different from the other clones because they're monozygotic twins. Only one cloned embryo was implanted in their surrogate mother, but it split in the womb, becoming two embryos that became Sarah and Helena. That gives them a closer link than any of the other clones.

Thanks for that Christopher. I still haven't revisited the show yet so I'm going off of memory and what I can gleam from the Orhpan Black Wiki.

That might be the thing I'm most excited about with the reveal. That whole sister connection thing was a big deal at the end of the season, there is a lot more to explore this season. We will get the opportunity to see that, which, among other things, really excites me.

The future has no business interfering with or attempting to control my life!

The future is just another gingrich of assholes.

In this case, a gingrich is not a person, it's a unit of measurement in reference to the collective noun for asshole.

:)
