As for Michael Collins the character Dance plays, Colonel Ormonde Winter not only survives in real life but is promoted to general, knighted and goes on to fight in World War 2 in his sixties

But then truth was never what that repulsive travesty of a film was about, in fact quite the opposite:eek::wtf:

In Michael Collins, Dance plays a character named Soames.

Yes but he was based on Winter ('a dapper, snakelike little man'). He was referred to as O and may have been the inspiration for M in the Bond films.
In fairness I'd rather watch Alien 3 again than Michael Collins which is like seeing a film where the Nazis are the good guys and the Jews the villains.:eek::wtf:
As for Newt, Hicks and Bishop if they'd survived you would feel positive about Alien/Aliens and still be able to enjoy them, prizing Ripley's sacrifice all the more. Now we'd still have disliked Alien 3, it's a lousy film (in WHATEVER version) but wouldn't hate it with the same loathing.

Don't see what's so silly about it... Biehn lived a pretty lousy life in the T-verse, why can't he enjoy a nice retirement in the A-verse? :p

Not to mention what happened to the poor guy in the Command and Conquer games until they decided to chnage his character's fate.

It's simple. In any universe, Michael Biehn's fate is to die tragically.

Sorry, laws of the multiverse are what they are.

Not really, the comics were stupid testosterone poisoning nonsense. 3 at least tried something unexpected.

Unexpected? Sure, no one could have foreseen the travesty it would be:wtf::eek::confused:

The Alien comics were pretty bad, I'll grant you. Astonishingly the best were the Aliens vs Predator series, a shame they didn't copy the idea for the movies.
It was actually the Alien vs Predator series I was meaning when I mentioned the Dark Horse comics.

The Alien vs. Predator video game for PS3 is pretty sweet. I wouldn't mind a movie with that kind of style.

Ive only ever watched Alien & cant bring myself to watch anymore as they scare me. The reason? When i was 10 & staying round my cousins. we were camping out in their garden in a tent. we decided to watch alien. My uncle told us not to watch it because we would find it too scarey..so we decided to sneak into the house & watch when they were in bed. Needless to say two slightly scared 10yr old girls sneak back into the tent after and lie there. We hear a noise & ask each other "did you heard that?" "No must be your imagination" it goes quiet and all of a sudden the tent shakes and a "rwaaaaarrrrrrr" comes from outside closely followed by me & my cousin screaming our little heads off. I do not remember the film but ive never been able to watch alien or the following sequels since.

I love Alien, and as some folks have said it's a nearly flawless horror/sci fi film.

Aliens is a lot of fun, but all of the characters not named Ripley are pretty cliche.
However, after watching Aliens, you need to go out and find the Saturday Night Live with Paul Reiser and the skit Mad About You, Alien.

As a note, you can get the complete Alien's series on blue ray for just a touch more then 50 bucks...which is a good deal...
