I was thinking it was Spoiler to reprimand himself after having already eaten them, but you could be right! General thinking about the plot... Spoiler This may be a crazy thought, but...was he really murdered? Would the show have the stones to string us along only to reveal it was an accident all along?
This season has still got me I can't believe the level of talent they pull in for appearances. Streep's musical number was outstanding... like they should get an award for it or something.
This is my thought to. Spoiler: Suspicions He was poisoned at the theatre, this was attempted murder, and the fact they dwelled on him taking Meth probably ties into this. Did he have some ot Gideons rats, giving him food Poison, forestalling the onset of the meth overdose delivered via cookies until after he got his stomach pumped? Loretta is clearly his mum, too much suggestion that she's a stalker, so obviously she's not, and who the dad is will probably be a reveal later. The fight was about her giving him up for adoption. He collapsed in the lift shaft, we established the lift was broken and fixed, but clearly not, so he was just distracted him, did Kimber witness it?
New theory. No one killed him. The drugs did him in on the stage and later he accidentally fell down the shaft of the broken elevator.
That was by far the best episode of the season so far. Mathew Broderick just killed it. I only wish they didn't spoil him in the trailers.
Thankfully I didn't see the trailers so I was pleasantly surprised by both his and Mel Brooks' hysterical roles. "Thie is not the first time Matthew has swooped in and stolen a role from me." "For the millionth time, you would not have been a good Ferris Bueller. You were 41."
"When I did WarGames, I learned how to hack. When I did Election, I taught some classes and dated some students..." "You're still here? It's over. Go home. Go."
I literally just got that So now I'm thinking that Streep thinks Ben was her son but actually it's Dickie as he's the one who was adopted. This does rely on them being practically the same age though.
If it makes you feel better, I missed it too until I read the posts in this thread. Its been a long time since I watched Ferris Beuller.
It's been decades since I saw Ferris but I did watch the Honest Trailer just a few weeks ago so feel I should have picked up on it!
Damned if this silly little show isn't also really good. Imagine having the brass balls to bring in Meryl Streep to play a singing role, & also deliver drama at her level of capability, in a character that is literally a commentary on the life of a failed actor. It's hard to imagine this is the same show that had Amy Schumer sloshing around in it like an idiot lol I can't even get into how impossible to me it sounds that they also find time & ways to sneak in their supporting cast so surprisingly well, like Bunny flashbacks with Uma. It boggles my mind that they give that level of investment to everyone.
Ok I was Spoiler nearly right, Dickie is her son but she knew this all along! Another great episode. They wouldn't Spoiler kill Oliver though, would they?
I have a feeling, now that we've seen the whole song, that it's trying to tell us something about the structure of the mystery. They're fixated on a finding an obvious but absurd answer, rather than expanding their focus to something more likely but isn't neatly in front of them (the cast and crew of the play are the babies in this metaphor).
Yeah, I'm still convinced there was no murder this season. I'm prepared for face-egg, but I stand by it. If there was murder, I'm betting most of the clues we've had so far are complete red herrings.
The line "has my inspection been too cursory, should I look outside the nursery" feels like the hint, that they're assuming it's the cast and crew. When the finger was pointed and "Could it be you?" he was technically also pointing at theatre critic Monica in the audience
Ooh that's interesting. My gut says it's Tobert I do love @Tosk's idea that there isn't actually a murder (it's possible the poisoning was accidental as well I guess)
