One Spock continuity violation we might struggle with?

With Vulcans one can never be sure

 

They can always blame that stray Katra in their head.

 

Spock would probably say his interest was entirely logical and scientific, then Kirk would smirk and McCoy would roll his eyes.

 

I've always thought that the Every Seven Year - Ponn Far, that Vulcan's have to endure, was a direct result of their conceit of purposely holding back their emotions.
And the SEX part of it, was just their way of coping with something they can't control logically.

 

Bingo.

 

During that very conversation Spock also claimed he doesn't joke, which was already an obvious lie 50 years ago. Spock and most Vulcans are constantly obsessed with hiding their personal flaws.

 

Either he considered the whole thing to be perfectly logical, or he dismissed it as a delusion which was outside his control.
