I think he just likes what he sees. But if he does, well kudos to his open mindedness.
I am into them myself. However Cassy's not a transsexual. She had no operations or hormones or anything of the sort. Her species is just that both sexes have predominantly feminine characteristics, ie: voices, looks, mannerisms, etc, just different plumbing. The males and the females are pretty much the same, except the aforementioned plumbing. And I made up the species since I figured to myself, "Let's see how creative I can get at making aliens, and not just another ridge face." Though Cassy has no idea what her species is or where she came from, since she was found and raised by human colonists that discovered her as an infant. One thing that's disappointed me with trek lately is the aliens are pretty much humans with a few speed bumps or whatever on their foreheads and that's it. So, I want to make my own as different as possible.
So, if ya like the character, great! If you're getting erections or vaginal wetness from it, well.....I guess I can sure make attractive characters, it seems.

I think it's her feminine features you like most. So it's not so much her male-ness, if that's even a word, but that she's rather pretty and feminine, and she just happens to have a penis.
I think it's just that Cassy's attractiveness that's turning you into a human sundial.

But from the back story you've presented, how would Cassie (or we) know this? Isn't Cassie a single representative of her race/species? Given that she is alone, she could be a genetic sport, an abnormality. And her physical appearance atypical for her people.
She does not, I already designed the species, and apart from one other forum, a Doctor Who forum I'm on, only the posters reading this thread and a few close friends know that. But her species is, in fact as I described, and she's pretty much a prime example of a male of that species. To herself, she has no idea, no clue what she is or where she came from. It's not too big an issue, and weather or not she discovers her origins is still up in the air. Anyhow, she's brilliant at warp propulsion, as well as a few other FTL types of travel. Also, she's keen on space time and so on, especially after having traveling with a particular time traveling fellow. I am even pondering she might have served on the Stargazer, as an unofficial adviser, when Juan Luc was captain of the Stargazer, and probably assisted in giving the Star Gazer a second lease on life, so to speak, having spent some time on the ship and having a sentimental feeling for it. To get an idea.....look up Washu from the Tenchi anime series.
