One more season, or one more episode.

Endgame and All Good Things are at least two part finales that were written as such, and where part two follows part one seamlessly. One third of What You Leave Behind is silly flashbacks with music, and part two is totally different from part one.

I could definitely have done without the flashbacks and music.

Although Season 7 was good, it felt like it was running out of juice at points. I felt that the ending did the series justice. The Dominion was crushed and the victory did taste as bitter as defeat for the Cardassians. Kai Winn got to spend eternity with Dukat and in the loving arms of the Pai' Raiths. The problem with some shows is that they keep on running until nobody cares anymore. All Good Things was a very memorable episode that showed how TNG changed and evolved over the past seven years. When similar trips into the past happened on Voyager, everything appeared almost the same (minus a few character changes). Voyager never suffered a serious loss as TNG (Tasha Yar) and DS9 did (Jadzia Dax, Kai Opaka, Michael Eddington, Zial, Garak's parents, etc..) Cobra

While the emotional make up of the last episode was good the special effects were just rehashed and it trashed the episode.

I used to say one more season, but I'd say one more epiisode nowadays.

Just take the first part of WYLB as is, were the Dominion War ends, and call it Judgment Day or something. Then take the second part of WYLB and expand it into two parts, by even including the induction of Bajor into the Federation, as a way of starting the healing process of war immediately (obviously, Sisko would be present).

Thats about it. Oh, and allow Jadzia clips into the damn finale montage.

Enough was enough... it had run its course. I'm glad it ended before it got any worse.

I voted one more episode, but then immediately regretted it and wanted to mark one more season. I would've loved to see how the people of Deep Space 9 moved on after the finale. Maybe a movie could've been nice, maybe not a big production, but something as a sort of reunion, one last adventure?

I just would've liked to see it after everything was said and done instead of just speculating through fan fiction and role play.

I went with +1 season.

What can I say? I'm a model capitalist. I always want more. Even if it means running a thing I love into the ground.

Oh, and allow Jadzia clips into the damn finale montage.
Yeah, her absence kind of ruined the whole montage bit. Although to be fair, as viewers/consumers we usually don't get to see the legal roadbumps and in some cases the personal and/or professional pettiness behind the scenes.

I'm going to go with neither, better to leave it where it ended. Rather than risk diluting the quality with another season.

It was fine as it was (with the caveat that I'd make a few changes to the finale, as others have noted).

I suppose an epilogue twenty years later, along the lines of "Sleeping in Light," might have been interesting, but what we got was all that was needed.

I'd change the whole of season 7 - especially the lack of forethought into the Prophet vs Pagh Wraith angle.

As for the finale, stock footage from every major DS9 fleet battle would be summarily eliminated. They had that footage recycled with a few new scenes provided my Digital Muse because they spent so much of their FX budget on the idiotic fire caves with Foundation Imaging.

It would be an interesting exercise to see the DS9 finale made now with the same budget.

I'm greedy, so I went with 'another episode'.

I'd have liked to have seen maybe one more episode in the final arc run-up to the end. Not that there was anything really missing or anything...it's just that that arc was so awesome, I didn't want it to end. And still don't, when I watch it on DVD.

Also could have done with a bit more clarity regarding Sisko's fate with The Prophets....but I'm okay with it as is, really....
