Once Upon A Time Season 4

So Maleficent and Lily finally meet, but Lilly's lust for vengeance is too great while her mother is ready to move on and look at the possibility of a happy future. I guess Maleficent is more forgiving than her daughter. Speaking of forgiveness, I'm happy that Emma is no longer angry at her parents.

Even Regina admits she's found her happiness, not necessarily with Robin, but in a world in which Robin is a part of. She didn't need the Author to write her a happy ending. It seems most of the characters are getting their happiness resolved on their own.

The only one who's really down in the dumps is Rumple, but he's about to get his wishes fulfilled.

Mal's response was amazing, considering her history with Snow and Charming and the fact that in the last few eps their relationship with their own daughter has been less than stellar.

Then again, Gold did go to Charming for relationship advice with Belle a few seasons ago, so there is a precedent for villainy to seek the Charming's counsel.

I am glad that Emma finally grew up and hopefully the evil savior and red eye makeup will disappear for awhile.

Uh oh.

After watching the promo for the 2 hour finale, I guess I spoke too soon.

;)

I was kind of shocked that Maleficent actually didn't want to go for revenge against the Charmings. I wonder if Maleficent will be able to keep Lily under control, or if she'll be going after them by herself.
The flashback story was interesting. I was surprised to see Regina and her mother interacting between Cora being sent to Wonderland and her showing up in Storybrooke.
I'm definitely glad that Emma is making up with her parents. I think it does make sense that she would be angry with them, but I wouldn't have wanted to see it go on much longer.
I figured out that Regina was going to use Lily to power the ink as soon as they talked about the Savior's darkness.
I loved the end with Regina deciding not to have the author change anything. It will be interesting to see what becomes of the whole Robin/Regina/Zelena thing.
Next week's looks like it should be a lot of fun.

Well, we got a lot of resolution in this episode, and it didn't feel forced at all. But I think they will regret not rewriting Zelena a bit; all they had to do was say something like, "Zelena saw the error of her ways."

Next week: The OUAT equivalent of the Mirror Universe. I wonder if this will carry over into the next season or if the Author will be replaced with a new, Prime Directive-obeying Author.

It's funny how the 'Princesses of Darkness' group at the start of the half-season basically kinda fell by the wayside one by one. Interesting way to do it.

Everybody except Cruella was reformed in one way or another-- and I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of Cruella. She did get doused with that magic ink, after all.

Good news. I'm not too surprised, but I was wondering slightly, since the ratings seem to have slipped.

Have the ratings actually slipped from previous seasons' level, or did they simply lose some (or all) of the increase that the Frozen storyline brought in the first half?

I'm still enjoying the show as much as ever.

I hope the writing improves.
The Frozen story arc dragged on needlessly and the evil villainess trio ended up a bit lame.

I really enjoyed the early shows but this last season left me cold.

Really glad to hear it's coming back next season. I'm still really enjoying it so I would have been disappointed to see it end.

It would take a catastrophic drop in the ratings for ABC not to renew the series, and I don't see such a drop happening ever.

Just to clarify, the reason I don't see a catastrophic ratings drop happening ever is the fact that the series is a consistently steady DVR ratings generator, something that ABC not only recognizes but has previously touted publicly.

I'm not sure. It's just that I have a friend who posts weekly ratings for various shows on another forum and it I've gotten the impression that the OUAT numbers have eroded considerably. I'd have to go back and look at actual numbers to see the particulars.
