OMG, Jelly Babies!

On the subject of jelly babies, does anyone know whether we saw any other Doctor after Tom Baker eat them until the TV Movie? I can't remember seeing 5 through 7 in the show eat them, but I'm not sure.

looks like the 2nd Doctor has a taste for Jelly Babies, however that might have been part of a multi Doctor story.

the Master & the Rani are also seen with Jelly Babies.

the 6th, 7th & 8th Doctors have one as well.

I'll be in London this Summer. Where are Jelly Babies sold? Or is it easier to ask where aren't they sold? ;)

you can get them pretty much anywhere in England, I would avoid buying from London if possible, London is quite expensive.

You can buy them from supermarkets; newsagents, corner shops, petrol filling stations, those kinds of places. Bassetts Jelly Babies are the most famous brand. They come in a bright yellow pack. There are other brands, which, to be honest, taste just as good, but you might want to go for the "authentic" product.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to getting some so that my boss (who resembles Davros in spirit, if not in face) can slap them out of my hand after I offer him one.

Nah, better not; too damned expensive to waste on tyrants, even if reliving a Tom Baker scene.

Of course what is interesting, by which I mean quite boring and nerdy, is that often the Doctor would use substitute Jelly Babies, his bag would often be filled with various other sweets such as liquorice allsorts despite him offering jelly babies verbally to whoever he happened to be talking to. Just thought I’d share that with you.

Oh and if you’re going to buy Jelly Babies try and get them from a local sweet shop where they keep them in the big plastic jars, better than Bassets if you can get them IMO.

^ Good thinking about buying them loose. They'll probably be put in a paper bag, too - for that authentic feel. :techman:

Can't imagine why Bassett's have never expanded and tried to market them in the US. They're so much tastier than gummy bears.
