Ok I'll say it- I like the DSC Klingons

Vigilance

Commander
Red Shirt
First, they don't all look alike.

People saying they don't look like Klingons need to keep in mind the variance we have seen between Klingons WITHIN Discovery.

I believe the makeup people are trying to give Klingons the same range of features Humans have and that's pretty awesome, if daunting from a budget standpoint.

Second, as for their supposed lack of honor, actual honor among Klingons seems to be more of a guideline than a thing they actually live by. Worf and Martok? Yes, very honorable men.

Gowron? Lursa and B'Etor? Duras?

Also, the whole "reuniting the 24 houses" and other comments leads me to believe we are witnessing a rebirth of the Klingon "empire", in short, a major cultural change within Klingon culture.

I like all this and have high hopes for where it goes from here.

I like them okay so far. I like Voq. I like the idea behind T'Kuvma, but poor Chris Obi might have polyps in his nose as a side effect of his time in Toronto. You know who I really like? I really like that Kol guy, and the female Klingon House representative whose name I'm unfamiliar with. I really like their designs (Kol's surprised me in action because in the press photos he looked like a background extra on a Marvel movie IMO) and I really like their dialogue. I want to see more of them.

I wonder if Kol is going to be a rival for Voq now. He promised to take everything from T'Kuvma, and now who stands in his way? A houseless whelp whose skin is viewed as sub-standard? Good hook.

Basically all we've seen is a shipful of religious fundamentalists - I'm looking forward to seeing more of the other houses.

I think the decision to heavily use the Klingon language did the actors no favours at all, but it helped sell the world-building and alienness of them.

I think the prosthetics are way too much and make their faces so immobile that they have no facial expressions.
Poor actors.
This was my reaction when I saw the early pictures. Prosthetic makeup used to be a hobby of mine and I knew the appliances were too heavy to allow anything but the most limited range of motion. It's a nice idea, but it's too overwrought.

EDIT TO ADD:
Having said that, I think this could have been done well with digital makeup techniques, though I imagine that would still be more expensive than doing it in silicone.

Also, while Sarek's ears stuck out like weather vanes, they had gorgeous sub-surface scattering that made them look realistic.

They look like monsters. I presume that they can grow hair and most Klingons do, but this group is some sort of religious cult that prefers an old style aesthetic.

The Klingon ship encountered first reminds me a lot of some fan design I once saw. Not even sure the fan design was intended for the Trek franchise.

The way the Klingons look now, that's fine, in fact it's growing on me. I like their ships as well. I just don't like how they sound, it's silly, unnecessary, and distracting.

Neutral on the design of the Klingons but I really did enjoy the intrigue between the houses. Am very curious if House Duras is around back then.

I think Klingons are more than just their looks. Through the decades we've come to see that they have a rich culture and a unique perspective on life etc. I would like to see those elements explored more in this series. I'm not really concerned with their looks....even though I do LOVE the way these Klingons look.

I really enjoyed the Klingon dialect they were speaking. It was very well executed. It was also very refreshing to hear actual klingon conversations. I like how they pause between words and put certain emphasis on word sequences.
