OJ Simpson is going to jail!

I know we're all supposed to think that OJ killed Nicole and Ron. I never followed the original trial that closely, so I don't know. But think of this: What if - bear with me here - he really *didn't* do it? What would happen if there came some new, actual, real, conclusive proof that he was innocent? Would we all be willing to eat that much crow? Or would people refuse to accept any new evidence that proved him not guilty, no matter how reliable it might have been?

I am well aware that it's next to impossible that we'd ever get such evidence. I'm just speaking hypothetically here. It's just that I'm a bit disturbed that it's become so easy to hate OJ.

This latest trial, on the other hand, seems fairly cut and dried. He committed armed robbery and was sentenced accordingly. Although it is very likely that part of the reason he got such a sentence was out of revenge for the original murders. There's no way that the jury could have ignored that. Anybody other than OJ would probably have not gotten such a long sentence.

Actually, the judge went easy on him compared to what she could've done--she could've had those sentences run consecutively instead of concurrently like she did. This means OJ will probably get parole in 6-7 years instead of it taking a whole lot longer.

I've been watching here at work. He didn't look happy  The Goldmans are responding right now on CNN.com Live. Fred: "This monster is where he belongs... behind bars." I agree.

I think the great philosopher Eric Qualen said it best in 'Cliffhanger':

Kill a few people, they call you a murderer. Kill a million and you're a conqueror. Go figure.

The moral of the story is, OJ should have just kept right on killing. Then he would be beloved and making more 'Naked Gun' movies, and all would be right with the world. Except for all the dead people of course. That would kind of suck.

I disagree with Fred Goldman. While I think that OJ killed his wife and her lover, he is innocent of that crime. I think the judge overreached and the sentence will get reduced on appeal

Didn't most of his allies get probation?

His accomplice got the same thing.
the one that was a co-defendant... but others were given deals and I'm pretty sure they got probation

I honestly wish Fred "I'm a Media Whore" Goldman would STFU. It's sad his daughter was brutally murdered, but damn -- stop pandering to the media all the time.

son...
Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson

And I agree with you
He has used his sons murder to get attention

My respect to the Brown family.

I stand corrected. Either way, I'm tired of their pandering.

Maybe now OJ can have a better shot at finding the real killer, since he'll be in a place with a lot of them.

I like what the judge said:

I wasn't sure if you were arrogant or stupid. By the end of the trial I have determined it to be both.

This would be tragic. He should stay behind bars for the remainder of his life.
