C-Oh is such a dastardly protagonist I would not be surprised if she began to grow a very evil mustache she can twirl while laughing in a very evil way.

So Commodore Oh... there is seems to be no consensus here if she is Romulan or Vulcan... So let's have a highly scientific poll to sort it all out once and for all

I believe her to be a Vulcan who believes its logical to ban synthetic life. Of course could be wrong but she sure sounded Vulcan when speaking to her operative and behind closed doors like that she didn't have to.

She sounded like a Vulcan who's not the strictest Surakian around, and worlds away from a Kolinahru. Not quite "Vulcans without logic" territory, but not entirely orthodox. Compared to one of them, she was practically screaming at the top of her lungs at Rizzo.

Soval's years on Earth had resulted in some very un-Vulcanlike explosions of emotion and other body language. Oh could be another Vulcan who's been around humans and other species for so long that she's picked up some bad habits so to speak.

She can be 100% Vulcan and still be different without completely so.

I rewatched some scenes and noticed that Oh in her first scene, when she's talking to Clancy, holds her hands opposite to the Vulcan way. Not \\//, but \II/, - could that give away that she's actually un-Vulcan and therefore Romulan? ;)

she's just a Contrarian*

*A proto-Vulcan race from Contraria VI, that became UFP member in 2379

I know it's not relevant to the OP's question, but I'm wondering where Oh sits in the continuum between the two previous uses of "Chief of Starfleet Security":

Thomas Henry, Chief of Starfleet Security active c 2367, has oversight over the investigation by Rear Admiral Nora Satie (ret'd) into a potential security breach on the Enterprise-D. Wears the insignia of a three-star admiral, notionally a Vice Admiral at least in this setting.

Ben Sisko, briefly "Acting Head of Starfleet Security on Earth" in 2372, retains his existing rank of Captain in this role, appears to be limited to Earth or at least the Sol System.

It seems to me that logically Oh is filling the latter role, perhaps analogus to a hybrid of the Pentagon Force Protection Agency/DOD Police/DCIS (and potentially the Capitol Police) with collateral authority to liaise with Starfleet Operations/Starfleet Exploration for extra-solar assents as needed, whereas Henry's position has a much broader remit covering security for Starfleet and the Federation as a whole?

There are a few other examples, too. An Admiral Raner was mentioned in The Pegasus as being the chief of Starfleet Security. There was also a nameless female head of Starfleet Security mentioned on DS9 and Voyager who may or may not be Raner.

Although not specified to be the head of Starfleet Security, Admiral Toddman from The Die is Cast is with Starfleet Security and held the rank of Vice Admiral. He also wore a gold Admiral's uniform, making him the only 24th century flag officer besides Oh to wear gold.
