[*]Constitution-class starships are ... alas ... built on the ground.
Really, was there even the slightest doubt this would be the case since the ST:XI teaser was released?
*sigh*
TGT, resigned

Relax. A "the-Enterprise-is-built-on-the-ground" can't sneak into your house and rape you.
Anyone from the UK going to the cinema today?
Please report if the trailer is showing. Please, please.

Did anyone in Canada see the trailer?

I'm planning on going to see it tonight (Gloucester Silver City, since I notice you're in Ottawa), so I hope it's playing. I'll report back and let you know.

It should be playing in the big screen at the Empire, Leicester Square.
The Enterprise being built on Earth makes for a great visual, though, when the camera POV is someone on the ground - presumably Kirk, at least as the trailer is cut together - looking up at it.
The angle is breathtaking and the ship is majestic; it's like looking at a huge monument as it's being constructed. I thought of the Statue of Liberty, for no good reason.
As I said, the cutting-together of the trailer presents this as if Kirk is looking up at the Enterprise for the first time - it's really damned effective at communicating what you would imagine Kirk might feel, much more so than a straight replay of the inspection fly-around in orbit could be at this point.

Sadly QOS isn't even playing there. Only at the Odeon
