We're going to have to dump a lot of lead in the water supply to get enough people to fall for that.I think the idea is that you sell it on for even more, to someone else who wants to sell it for even more.

The “base model” for that one seems to be the STO version of the Kobayashi Maru. https://sto.fandom.com/wiki/Kobayashi_MaruSo are those upper things just random cargo modules, apparently? And does this ship get up to ludicrous speed?Seems like a lot of tiny shuttlebays as well....
I admit, it would be kind of fun to have access to this program just so we could practice making terrible kitbashes.![]()
Pardon my language: NFT should stand for No F*****g Time, or Not F*****g True - both of which seem more apt for something as absurd as an NFT is.
I hope SMG and Rapp got paid well to have to eat shit over this. I hope they feel genuine shame as well. I assume they do, as they seem like nice people.
I'm glad, though. It looks like the idea disturbed a lot of Trek fans, which speaks very well of the community.I am somewhat surprised this thread is still going.

Agreed, and another aspect of our community is that for many of us the appeal of a future where greed and want are outliers rather than the norm is a positive one, so when we see an obvious, ham handed attempt at cashing in on that by a corporation who truly does not care for the future we want, we call it out.Yeah, I tend to think that the Trek community as a whole is more tech-knowledgeable and aware than most, which strikes me as a terrible idea to have pitched it to in the first place. I think it's a good thing to talk about in order to bring more general awareness of how terrible these things are.
I have a feeling the Great Bird himself is rolling in his grave over this.
True. I appreciate Gene for Star Trek, but there were so many others who made it what it is today, and Gene definitely wanted his money, as poor Alexander Courage could point out.Yeah, because he's not getting his cut...
