Wolverine, on the other hand, has a Friday estimate of $8.5 million on BOM and $8.22 million on SBD, so it's set to drop by some 66-68%.

I knew it was going to take a big drop. Just like X3. Make most of its money in the first week and die at the box office. If it had actually been a good film, the fall wouldn't have been so dramatic.

This is a very good start for Trek. I'd say it will make over $70 million (not couting early previews) at the box office. If it can avoid taking a huge drop next week, it should finish with a very nice box office total. The Good...word of mouth and reviews for Star Trek have been very good. That should guard against a dramatic fall. The bad...Angels and Demons hits theaters next week. Why anyone would want to see that film, I'll never know. The Da Vinci Code movie was a giant piece of shit (though in fairness it was based on an alright but overrated book).

The Da Vinci Code book was horrible and the other one has exactly the same plot.

Anyway, I'm optimistic and think Trek will do very well.

I'd be surprised to see Angels get more than early 40's and wouldn't be surprised to see the movie make no more than 40 or less.

Am eager to see the world numbers because Paramount said it was keeping decent pace with Wolverine outside US but anything above $50 million will be great.

Deadline Hollywood reported increase in final numbers...

US BOX OFFICE - $79.3 Million
