Of sexagenarians

Happy Birthday Gates McFadden!

Our favourite redheaded doctor hits the big 6-0 today... and she still looks fantastic!

Thanks for all your years of work on TNG Gates, and have a terrific birthday!

EDIT: Oops, I just realized Malleus started a thread on the same subject, but with a deceptive title! ;)

Mods, feel free to close this thread or merge them, or whatever you like.

She's the first Star Trek lady I ever had the hots for (didn't start watching the 60s series till a few months ago), and if there'd been a cutout of her with the other TNG cast ones sold at a convention I once went to, I probably would have bought it. It makes me feel really old knowing one of the most fondly remembered babes of my childhood is that age now. I'm still tempted to buy "The Muppets Take Manhattan" in large part because she has a cameo in it. Her appearance lasts only about 30 seconds, but I was still thrilled when I saw it, with her being so young and gorgeous due to it being her film debut. :techman:to one of the loveliest and most underrated (and sadly underused) actresses in Star Trek history.

The "deceptive" title has something to do with at least some of the remarks made below:

 :adore:

Wow, I had no idea she was 60. Stewart sure, I think he was on the research and development comity that discovered dirt. jk.

Another thing I didn't know, her first name isn't Gates? I never knew about the Cheryl part.
