Peldor joi, friends!

This month it's time for some celebrations. The theme is Star Trek holidays! Be it the Bajoran Gratitude Festival, the Klingon Day of Honor, the Vulcan Tal-Shanar or Earth's own First Contact Day – there's some celebrating to be done!

Here's a handy list of all the made-up holidays from the Star Trek universe. Either pick one of those fictional festive events or invent one yourself to use as the basis for your work. No really, you can do anything you like with it.

Looking forward to what you cook up!

Any questions, suggestions or feedback?

Unless I find time between now and the end of the month (to add some little finishing touches), here's my entry:

Other than the fonts and the Vulcan calligraphy (which I appropriated from korsaya.org - and is supposed to say "Rillan Grease"), all work is mine (the sky is a photo I took).

Hey guys! Sorry I didn't show up sooner. Has been another busy month for me with a lot of extra hours. A big thank you to those of you who entered with their artwork. @Cyfa, you've got a winner there. Love it!

I'm just putting the finishing touches on my own entry and unless someone comes forward and needs more time for their entry I will post the voting thread later tonight. I hope that's okay for you guys. :)

And here's my entry: The original idea is that it's the illustration for a religious Bajoran Gratitude Festival card. The Bajoran glyphs should read as “Peldor joi”, the traditional greeting for the festival. Oh, and the overall layout is based on the Bajoran symbol, of course. :)

Will put up the voting thread later …

Oh, your card is wonderful, @Michael ! I love the aesthetic and the graduated tones. Fantastic!

Edit: I can't quite put my finger on why, but the child reminds me of David (Haley Joel Osment) from A. I. and the female head Sarah Sisko.

I'm glad you like it! Means much to me, thank you. :)

Ha, I can certainly see the resemblance. Really like the Sarah Sisko connection. After all, she's the mother of our favorite emissary.

By the way, the voting thread is now live here.
