Ocean's films

I enjoyed the trilogy. Eleven was great, twelve was pretty good, and 13 was just kind of a pop corn flick. It wasn't bad, but there was no way I could take it seriously with some of the stuff they do in it.

I greatly enjoyed the first film, but couldn't get past ten minutes of Ocean's 12 on DVD. Ocean's 13 was basically a repeat of the first film, but with Al Pacino and a few others (and without Julia Roberts), but for mindless fun, it was fun.

I loved the first film--it was more Mission: Impossible than the actual films in the M:I series. Loved the concept and the execution.

I thought the second film was okay, but kind of a cheat. Instead of seeing the crew pull of the heist, we see them seemingly fail at doing so. only to find out that they had already accomplished it before the movie proper began.

The third one was more of a return to form, but didn't match the first one, IMO.

I enjoyed all of them as fun, fluff, eye candy pieces.

Agree, 11 hooked, 12 nearly lost, and 13 played the fish and reeled it in. ;):)

11 is a whole lot of fun, and a movie I can really pop in and watch any time. 12 was a pretty big mess, though. The Julia Robert bit especially was cringe inducing. But with 13 they got their act back together and delivered a film that, while not as good as 11, was still fun and entertaining.

Didn't Brad Pitt actually want to do a succession of films where the cast decreases by one, every time? So it'd be Oceans 11, then 10, 9, 8, etc. Sort of a Ten Little Indians riff.

Ocean's Eleven is a classic. Twelve is just terrible. Thirteen is a marked improvement, although the earthquake drill was ridiculous.
I'll second that opinion. The only thing that kept Twelve from being utter shit instead of just crap was the "Tess as Julia Roberts" schtick, which I found to be amusing. Or maybe that's just because the rest of the movie was so awful that it shone out like a beacon of non-crap.

I enjoyed all three of the films (though like pretty much everyone else I felt that 11 was the best, and 12 was the worst).

One of my favorite scenes in terms of the music and how it's shot is the fountain scene at the end of Ocean's Eleven. Just a beautiful, beautiful moment, really.
So very true. That is truly a beautiful moment.

11 is one of my favorite movies. It is a lot of fun.

I was disappointed with 12. I thought the storyline was needlessly complicated (we didn't even get into the actual story until about an hour in), had too many characters that were not balanced throughout the movie, and shakey-cam was overly-irritating.

13 was better, but it doesn't hold up to repeat viewings.

The Ocean's 11 remake was very entertaining, 12 was a pathetic cash-in but 13 was quite watchable.

The music that played during that scene was Claire de lune, by Claude Debussy. Beautiful scene backed with a beautiful piece of music.
