Wow is it gonna suck when this whole debacle calms down. late night is more entertaining than it's been in years.
Exactly, if it was like this more I don't think anyone would have rating issues.

During the writers strike Conan immediately paid staff salaries out-of-pocket. Leno had to be guilted into it by the press:Yeah Jay has a healthy ego and wanted the Tonight Show back, but I also believe he was genuinely concerned about keeping his staff employed
Leno is a fake populist."We haven't heard from [Jay] since the second or third day of the strike," said one Leno staffer who was let go Friday. "He called on speakerphone while we were in our daily meeting and said, 'Don't look for other jobs, no one's going to lose their house, we'll get though this.' Two weeks ago, we got the heads up that we had two more weeks (of pay) and that's it. Everyone wondered, 'Is Jay going to come through?' And nothing happened."
You know I watched Jay making his case.... I kind of see where he's coming from now. He didn't think he was taking the Tonight Show back, because he was assured Conan would agree to 12:05... so he agreed to the deal then Conan didn't and he was suddenly bound to show up at 11:35 with no host of Tonight....
So it's still a little iffy, but I see where he's coming from there.
[I don't buy the idea that he had a hand in orchestrating the entire thing; my impression is he's just one of these guys who goes where he's told and doesn't ask too many questions.
^ Who still has his job... what does that teach you?![]()
Conan on FOX would work out like this...
8pm-10pm FOX Primetime programing
10pm-11pm Local news(Our local news is an hour...)
11pm-12am Conan On FOX!!!
Usually after the local news they show stuff reruns of comedies anyways...
[edit]Or would they try and do his show at 11:35pm?
Fox insiders have confirmed that the network’s affiliates are open to a late-night show at 11 p.m., especially if it involved the caliber of an O’Brien or even a Jay Leno. Reilly reminded the press that many stations already have contracts in place for syndicated programming. “That becomes a very sensitive business discussion in a market-to-market basis,” he said. “If you have a top piece of talent, it makes it a conversation to have.”

Agreed. It's kinda fun hearing the hosts openly talk about each other now. In the past, they would either barely acknowledge the competition, or make only subtle references to them. And only RARELY did they mention them by name.
Now, it's pretty much open season on everyone. lol
