O'Brien out, Leno back in?

I wouldn't be shocked if after the suits at NBC sit there and watch tonight's episode if it really is the last. It's only Wednesday I can't imagine what Conan will be like on Friday if the show is still on lol

Of all the people to have on, Ricky Gervais... The man has almost no impulse control, and no filter on his mouth.

Are you watching this?!

Yes. I think Conan is pissed and is thumbing his nose at corporate and putting on a show he knows his fans will like.

Oh yeah, Conan is definitely pissed, and I think he is going to have as much fun as he can, and having Gervais on is perfect for that. So far, Gervais has had me in tears with some of his comments, "I think if you were naked you would be fairly translucent, where you could even see your heart beating, like one of those baby fish, you know?". :guffaw:

You know, I don't think they really can at this point. The Negative PR would kill them alone, but it might be a breech of contract action on their part. Conan just hired a new lawyer, the same one who slaughtered Kim Basigner over Boxing Helena back in the day.

 Gervais is comedy gold. :D

I think Conan is trying to get fired at this point.

I love how the producer apparently told Gervais that he didn't care what Gervais wanted to talk about, and Conan laughs and says in perfect deadpan, "He's fired."

Maybe their actually loving the ratings from this drama.

Could this whole thing be a planned "event", without anyone but NBC suits knowing about it?

LATE NIGHT CONSPIRACIES :shifty:

He should have Rickey on as a regular. The bob hope of the conan show.

Edit to add: It's funny how they walk into referencing the whole "corporate issue" with almost everything.

I'm sure when the ratings come out for this week it'll be a lot higher than last week so maybe you're onto something... lol

Crikey.

TMZ is reporting there are changes a foot at NBC...

...so it may all be rumor...but still...

We've learned Jay's 10:00 PM show will go on hiatus February 1. After the Olympics, Jay will take back his 11:30 PM time slot. What has not been decided -- whether Jay's show will be a half hour, followed by Conan, or whether Jay's show will be an hour and NBC says sayonara to Mr. O'Brien.

Neither Conan nor Leno has been a ratings winner in their slot...so, it doesn't surprise me.

While, I think it would be kick ass to lose Leno at 10 pm, I would hate to see Conan go...

...but then...I'm more likely to watch Stewart and Colbert...

I like the idea of putting Jay back on 11:35,:techman: I haven't The Tonight Show since Conan took over the show. Since, Conan took over The Tonight Show, the show has LOST to David Letterman on a regular basis. The Tonight Show:) before Conon had always won the time shot for NBC. The entire decision was a REALLY BAD MOVE:mad: for the NBC Network.:brickwall:

This woman is annoying....

Yeah, I didn't laugh once. She tried way, way too hard and used comedy I was listening to back in 1990.

No, the decision was a good move to make Conan the host of The Tonight Show. Conan was building the ratings. Do you understand how such things work, keith? It's not like a new host gets to keep the same audience. They have to build their audience. Leno had 17 years to rebuild the audience he lost from Carson. Conan had 7 months to rebuild. That's grossly unfair on the part of NBC, and it's just wrong the way they have treated Conan. Conan is far funnier than Leno, and while that may be opinion, I believe the best is yet to come for Conan.

I liked the carrying over of bits from Letterman to Craig tonight. Dave said "up next, I think it's C.F." then Craig starts obsessing and yells "Dave, I've always been loyal to you!"

It's funny, the Conan Vs. NBC/Leno has really pumped up the creative juices on all of the late night shows... well, all except Fallon who is staying clear of the mess.
