Having read message boards over the years, and I've spoken to many Tonight Show fans, and some of you have written... y'know... hundreds of post about late night television, I'd just like to say... GET A LIFE, will you, people? I mean, for crying out loud, it's just a TV show! I mean, look at you, look at the way you're acting! You've turned an enjoyable little show, created as a lark decades ago, into a COLOSSAL WASTE OF TIME!

You, you're almost 30...have you ever gone to bed before 10:30 on a weeknight?

I didn't think so! There's a whole world out there! When I was your age, I didn't watch late night television! I SLEPT! So... stop staying up till the wee hours of the morning! And get some sleep and GROW THE HELL UP! I mean, it's just a TV show dammit, IT'S JUST A TV SHOW!

Perhaps Conan can have Shatner come up on stage and perform that!

It has been stretched out a long time, but giving The Tonight Show to Leno in '93 instead of Letterman is still proving to have been one of the stupidest moves in TV history. If NBC had given Letterman Johnny's chair and moved Leno to the Late Night slot they would still dominate late night like they had for the previous three decades.

Glad someone on the board feels the same way I do. Letterman must be sitting over at CBS have a good laugh over all this.

Usually I only watch Conan and Craig Ferguson but I'll be watching them all tonight.

Wow, that article reads like a joke by NBC. It kept getting more absurd. When he said that Leno's show would have been successful if just given a year I thought it was getting too ridiculous, but then they said one of their new 10 PM shows will be another Law and Order spin off! Haha!! This is like a network mockery scene from the Simpsons or South Park. Except it's real, oh my god it's hilarious. More entertaining than NBC's shows!

That's actually not a bad point... unless there's a celeb on that I really like, my favorite part of these shows is always the first 20-30 minutes with the monologue, audience participation games, Top Ten List, etc.

It's interesting. I've read that Fox has liked Conan since his days on the Simpsons, and has offered him a late night slot several times in the past when his NBC contract for Late Night came up for renew.

How about we just have Conan write for the simpsons again, the "Conan Era" of the simpsons was a lot more edgier and funny in my opinion, bring him back to write more simpsons!!!!

I think you've hit on something here. Next season, in lieu of new dramas at 10:00, NBC should televise their contract negotiations and planning meetings for the following year's schedule. Maybe they could even do an American Idol-type thing with their new batch of pilots.
