Spoilers 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' series [Spoiler Discussion]

Ah, so we're back to the "mindlessly reiterating the same 5 year old opinions at each other ad nauseum in the hopes that the most insistently and incessantly stated objective opinion will magically become the correct one" portion of the thread again are we? Good to know.

Which posters are you referring to?

Also, that cloning process must really suck, judging from palp’s conditions.
Well, yeah. Just look at all the failed clones we see in that chamber where he and Kylo Ren meet at the beginning. Not to mention that Snoke and Rey's father were also themselves failed clones.

Rey's father was a clone of Palpatine that was not force sensitive and thus not useful for Palpatine himself, but he allowed this one to roam free. The clone found someone he loved and had Rey with her. Then Palpatine sensed she was force sensitive and send an assassin to find them. He found the parents and executed them when they refused to tell him anything. Rey was left alone on Jakku for a decade or more.

No clue if Rey's mother had any lineage, though head canon would have her be the daughter of Kenobi's brother whom he barely remembers. Or if Leia's statement to "Ben" is accurate, more like granddaughter to Obi-wan's brother, making Rey a Great-grandniece of Obi-wan Kenobi.

Explain how essence transfer works. If Rey kills Palps with a lightsaber, his essence will transfer into her, but if she kills him by reflecting his own Force Lightning back at him, it won’t?

Essence transfer: Rey kills him as an aggressive act means Palpatine can use the Dark Side energies she uses to hijack her body. Reflecting the Force Lightning back to himself is an energy loop of his own dark Side energies killing himself with her using the Light Side in defense to deflect him.

Random context: From the fall of Palpatine, the Chosen one is not Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker, or even Rey (Skywalker). The Chosen one is Anakin's kyber crystal.

Isn't that what they're going with? That Rey's father was a cloned son of Palpatine in the same way Boba Fett was a cloned son of Jango Fett?
I thought he just did the nasty!

oh my. And they say the legends continuity was bad!

Doesn’t this make Rey the genetic daughter of palpatine instead of his granddaughter, though?

this addition of course means that Vader saved Luke from having his body taken over by Palpy…Come on, whose’s side you are on?! No surprise the emperor later wanted Vader dead.

Of course by RoS he must be really senile: if you are trying to make someone fall in a trap the last thing you should do is goad about your trap to them.
