NX-01 Reference i nTrek 11

It's the immediate predecessor to the NCC-1701? Do we know that for certain?

I remember on the background biography screen of Archer in IAMDP2 that it said he died after the launch of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 - the first Federation Starship to bear that name.

Currently, there are no plans to include the NX-01 in Trek XI. That could change if fan opinion is strong enough, but right now, there's no indication that it will.

I think fan opinion was strong enough when ENT was on the air. It's why it was ultimately canned.

And it's why the NX-01 will not be referenced in any way, shape, or form in this movie...

I would really like to see a tip of the hat to he NX-01 and its crew. All it would take is a model of the NX-01 Enterprise and a picture of the crew over someone's shoulder.

I've spoken with my sources deep inside the company, and they have told me, "Outlook not so good". I asked them again and they said "try again later". So I don't think it's going to happen.

I would love a small refrence to the NX-01 and what they did. I know there are many who would like Enterprise erased from history but it's there.

That's weird, my own source told me, "All signs point to yes."

Odd. The powerful monkeys inside of NBC's Commissary assured me their information was accurate and omniscient.

Whether it is included or not will have nothing to do with fan input.

I'm betting on canonical on-screen reference, rather than scripted. Maybe on an out of focus viewscreen in the background.

I'm pretty sure Orci said in an interview that there will be some kind of reference in the movie to all 5 shows.

No verbal references to Enterprise, please.

If you must, If you must - stick a picture of the NX-01 on the back wall of the "Federation Captains" office. Waaaay in the background.

Something for when you freeze frame the DVD.

Oh, please God, no.

The public is at best indifferent to Enterprise. And the fanbase has already spoken... Enterprise couldn't even maintain Voyager's low viewership numbers, so that should tell you something about how much this film needs to give props to Enterprise.

You know, I agree completely. There are some others who don't but...I'm not going to say who they are. ;)

Er, how do you know? Are you a dual for Robert Orci? Just askin'.

Orci? Oh, goodness, no! At least, not the last time I looked in the mirror. It would require some kind of "Freaky Friday"-style switch to change that!

Show it being blown up by Daedulus Class ships as target practice! The first scene of the movie! Right before the Star Trek fanfare! Then...

"Space...the final frontier..."

OP : NX-01 must be in the new Star Trek movie !
General Audiance : What's the NX-01 ?
Me : If this movie is to be aimed at them you just got your answer to why it ain't gonna happen.

I have no problem with having it in if it's done well. The thing is, there may be a scene that calls for an older ship to be on display, still in service, or whatever. Making it the NX-01 won't phase the general audience and will make an impact on the serious fans. That's a win/win. Same thing goes for using peripheral or lesser known characters from TOS. The G/A will see them as just another character in the story while we will get a charge out of the inclusion of some canonical character. The obvious ones would be Finney, Gary, Finnegan, Boyce, April, etc.

There you go--they can totally work that into the new movie. If we see the Enterprise being commissioned, the first captain--April, Pike, whoever--should kill Archer with the champagne bottle.

no no no no no no !
What is it with this constant petitioning to validate Enterprise by including it in the new movie ?
Enterprise has as much in common with TOS as The Ewoks Christmas Special does to the Star Wars trilogy.
(yes, trilogy)

Didn't Abrams say he was going to view all 5 series of Star Trek; also, didn't other Star Trek series violate Star Trek canon at times. Or do I have to bring up the Klingon Bird of Prey!

No Star Trek series has ever voiolated canon. And J.J. Abrams cannot possibly make a good TOS movie until he memorizes every line of dialog from "Voyager."
