Number of “jumps” or short cuts Voyager made

Yup. We never quite learn how big the UFP really is in terms of unambiguous lightyears - but, as per ST:FC, in at least one direction the propaganda can refer to a distance of 8,000 lightyears from UFP point to UFP point.

Perhaps J-25 was two and one-quarter lightyears from the nearest starbase?

I know the hierarchy were fabricating that empire in renaissance man-but Voyager seemed to be getting relatively close to the BQ by that time. Even so, they had made about the distance.

Taking Endgame's 23 years into account. And assuming that just before endgame they had made 35,000 light years or so.

Out of a journey of 75,000 lyers. Which would mean with forty thousand light years to go-they made about 1739.130 light years per year. In the original timeline.

Given experiments with slip stream, more shortcuts, and various other modifications and boosts-this isn't too implausible. But since Voyager had 16 years left before future Janeway intervened-this would mean they made 2500 lyers a year. For that remaining time. Which is barring more advanced tech(not too implausible) somewhat hard to believe. Then again they could have made large jumps, or gone through the BQ quickly-perhaps even with direct help from the Federation.

What's interesting about the jumps and shortcuts is that if you take away all the progress achieved with them, Voyager's average speed is closer to 400 Light Years per year!
Too much exploring, I reckon...

...But exploring is what gave them those jumps.

No shortcut or speed boost ever resulted from a decision to just forge ahead at best possible speed. And after the first few boosts or near-boosts, the heroes probably couldn't bear the thought of missing out on further ones. So every decision of "We will look around here" or "Let's try and negotiate for tech or passage" was actually met with cheers!

Well, lets say at Endgame there half way there, 35,000ly away, and it took 16 years in the OG Timeline, so that means they found other shortcuts and speed boasts along the way.. to far for conventional warp to take that long..
Maybe they found a way to use quantum slipstream for the ocasional boost.. like use it, repair the damage, use it again.. I mean Voyager went after the Dauntless with very few modifications.. :)

To be honest.. after 10 years of travel, how much of the crew would have been F' it.. its been 10 years, lets find a comfortable planet and stop for awhile..
