Now that all HD seasons are out, any chance of them going on Netflix?

Re: Now that all HD seasons are out, any chance of them going on Netfl

Star Trek is on Netflix via a multi-year deal. The HD versions were not part of the deal because they didn't exist at the time.

The last news was in July 2013 when CBS and Netflix agreed on a contract extension, adding newer shows like CSI:NY, while keeping shows like Trek for more years. However, they apparently didn't add TNG-HD as part of the extension. Perhaps Amazon has exclusivity on streaming for the time being.

Amazon Prime has the first five seasons streaming.

Strange thing is that Hulu has TNG in HD, but it's only the first two seasons.

BBC America also only has the first two seasons. Perhaps with the U.S. being the largest market for the product, they are being more restrained with how it is being released? Hoping that people won't want to wait and will buy the box sets.

Hulu also has commercials and 2.0 stereo sound only. Amazon Prime has no commercials and 5.1 audio.

Seasons 1-5 are also available for purchase from iTunes and Vudu. I don't understand why they didn't do and day and date for the streaming purchases. I'm waiting for season 6 to show up on iTunes. That'll be around the same time it shows up on Amazon Prime.

I note that it's strange because both those seasons have been up on that site for over a year already, well before BBC started airing them. That channel only started airing the second season just recently.

Do we really want to see the first season in HD? I mean, have you seen some of those costumes? Blech.

Although I'm curious... Do the space battles look any better in HD, or does it make it more obvious that 90's special effects were still relatively primitive?

The Blu-Rays of TNG look magnificent. All seasons.

Watch them and find out for yourself. They're fantastic looking.

Netflix currently have some poorly compressed Ntsc copy of TNG streaming here in Europe, its 'orrible :-/

Re: Now that all HD seasons are out, any chance of them going on Netfl

Does anyone know if BBC America has the rest of the TNG episodes in HD yet?

Off topic a bit, but is there such a thing as TOS-R streaming or for sale in HD with the old FX? It's available to watch on Bluray, but I will probably never own a player.
