Nostalgia question: what year did you see your first TOS episode?

My first look was "The Lights of Zetar" in prime time. It was probably the NBC repeat, summer of 1969. On a black & white TV. I was too young for that episode. The technician's big death scene was too much for me.

But I was ready for it when the show went into syndication, the following year or so. I was all about the afternoon reruns. It would be ten years before I voluntarily missed an episode, and that was "And the Children Shall Lead." And it was for a death in the family. What could I do?

Everyone should skip "And the Children Shall Lead". Always.

I don't remember a specific episode but I know I was watching by around 1970-1971.
I do have a distinct memory of being dismayed the first time I ever saw 'Tomorrow is Yesterday' because I initially thought Star Trek had been replaced that day by a movie featuring the Air Force.

Reruns probably around '71 or '72. The first episode to stick in my head (I was around 7) was "The Enemy Within" because my dad used the episode in a sci-fi as literature class. (High school English teacher.) I remember playing it several times on an old Sony reel-to-reel VTR, crawling through the phaser in engineering shot.

October 1973–The Devil in the Dark. Six years old on WLVI Ch. 56 out of Boston. Been watching ever since.

Don’t recall the episode, but it was the summer of 1972. Thankfully, my parents were very lenient when it came to my obsession, and if dinner was late, I was always excused with my plate so I could go to my room and watch it on my little, portable, black and white television.

Nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
There's a "delete" option on the lower left of the post between "edit" and "report". Might not be available for Newbies, though.

No, I don’t see an edit button. Thank you for trying to help me, though!
