Nominate your choice(s) for Doctor #12

the Doctor wont have much choice but to regenerate older soon, any younger and Sarah Jane will mistake him for one of Lukes school friends. Plus he might not be able to reach the console.

Could be fun, a 15 year old doctor. Then he infiltrates Luke's school and meets Sarah Jane.

Luke-Mom! I brought a friend over.

The Doctor- Hi I'm John Smith!

^Sadly, Rob Pattinson seems to be booked for the immediate future with some film about sparkly vampires.

The last thing we want is the doctor brooding over his companion in the forest

"Say my name......"

"The Doctor"

and with that a hundred of so hard core Doctor Who fans, just killed themselves.

The thing is, though, if he only has 13 incarnations or 12 regenerations, it makes sense for them to be getting younger towards the end. I mean, regeneration was described by Dr 9 as a way of cheating death. What would be the point in him then regenerating into a body as old as, eg, the first Doctor's?

I can understand how the first few regenerations would result in older men, in order to retain the maturity and respect that the 1st Doc had acquired. But surely if the whole concept is to make any sense, the self-preservation point of it would be aiming for as durable a body as possible, a young one with many years of life ahead of it.

Also the Doctor is kind of Analogous to Merlin of the English Folk Lore and Merlin, "Aged Backwards" ie. Timelord...

Hell, according to Battlefield, The Doctor IS Merlin.

Never!

Worst Doctor, EVER! (runs for it!)
I'll lead the charge until Omaha gets here!

Seriously, check out the Big Finish audio plays. They prove The Sixth Doctor is actually quite awesome. Colin Baker just didn't get the chance to show due to mostly bad scripts.

Hey look, someone has to finish last in my affections, unfortunately it's Colin

I understand that the Big Finish audios have redeemed him somewhat, and if I'm honest I don't hate his Doctor as much as I once did but I still find him too ascerbic and too arrogant. Don't get me wrong I think all Doctors should have those character traits to some extent, but for me CB had both dialled up too high. I mean Davison is pretty grumpy, but at least he isn't arrogant with it, whilst McCoy has the arrogance but isn't remotely as prickly.

I will concede that some of my dislike of Baker does come down to him being the Doctor who replaced Davison who was my Doctor.

Failing that, how about Damian Lewis?
Oh, I like that idea! He's now on my short list.

Ooooh, how my spine now tingles with excitment.

What an excellent ginger choice. :techman:

Besides, The Doctor will actually be 'GINGER' this time...

Oh wait, sorry, were not aloud to speak the word 'GINGER' in our PC crazy country are we, damn, i like the word 'GINGER' though so its a shame i have to type 'GINGER' so often in this 'GINGER' reply.

Raise hands if you want The Doctor to be 'GINGER' just to piss off those do-gooders who havnt a clue to why Matt Smith uttered those now famous 'GINGER' lines.

*RAISED* (gingerly)

*raises hands* I'm "ginger" (well, kinda... my color has gotten kinda dull as I've reached adulthood), and I LOVED that Donna Noble, the only ginger Companion on nuWho, was THE best Companion ever (IMHO).

For a ginger Doctor... What about Domhnall Gleeson?

Personally, I'd think Alyson Hannigan, would make excellent female Doctors. :bolian:
oh I have to disagree with that, whilst I love Alyson as Willow on Buffy, she does not have the same attraction on How I Met Your Mother, unless Wheedon is going to write her Doctor, even then I dont see it. Plus im not sure I want a Doctor that I could fancy, could make things confusing with the past regenerations.

What about this David Tennant character ive been hearing so much about recently, he was good in Hamlet, ok his US career has flopped but I still think he would make a good Doctor.
Hannigan could appear as the Doctor's ex, who could be just as much of a mentalist as he is.;)
