No Surgery Needed...

Well I went to see the surgeon this morning with my mom and met first with one of his new fellow's who stated that the x-rays were great and that the ankle pain that I've been experiencing probably is originating from continued inflammation of the skin while the foot continues to heel. The surgeon said then that he doesn't expect he can do anything else to my foot except for an ankle fusion but doesn't think that would do any good and just continue to impede my motion. I'm getting that custom brace that I mentioned back in Janurary, our appeal process went through so I'm now on Persons With Multiple Barriers which gives me full medical and dental benefits along with a slight fininical increase as well. I'm in the processs of applying for permanant disabilty. Swimming has been going really well, I have two classes left after this, then will be signing up for some more lessons probably in a month or so.

The slightly annoying part is that I now have to move from my place...my landlords sold their house a week ago so I have until the end of next month to find a new place. My parents are going on vacation next week (actually my mom's partner is already in England caring for her mom who was diagonosed with cancer two weeks ago) so I pretty much won't be able to do anything until they come back on the 14th. Something of an inconvience for them to have sold while my parents are away lol but am glad everything seems to be moving on.

Well, this sounds like good news. Seems like they think the pain will resolve with healing. And congratulations on the improved financial situation.

Sorry to hear about your mom's partner's mom, though. I hope she's not suffering. :(

Good news.

A small tip on the pain from a gal who went through it with a hip replacement...after a bit, something will crop up to take your mind off of it...and then you will realize that it isn't there!

Hopefully it won't be as rough as a flood...but I didn't have time to worry about the hip, just got to work. The I realized my hip was fine.
