Morganna has finally grown into her lockjaw.
Anthony Head is in Free Agents and merlin which are airing at the same time, so you have to wonder how closely they were filmed apart on different sides of the world when?

I enjoyed Merlin a lot more than Doctor Who this week. Glad to see it back.

I told my girlfriend this must have been her greatest tv moment ever, Emilia scarred then killed! Guy I hope you're right!
The only thing I didn't really like about this was the notion that a year had passed, it seemed wrong somehow. So Morgause has been scarred and at death's door for a year? Uther has been sitting in a chair for a year? Arthur has basically been in charge for a year yet his relationship with Gwen seems to have moved not a centimetre forwards? Thats aside (and evil uncle wearing black...yeah you can trust him Arthur, you clotpole!) I really liked it

I'm amazed that Arthur is still calling himself "Prince".
They're treading water, unless they're planning on Uther making a full recovery by episode 4 at which they're back peddling.
Besides, securing the realm is one concern, but Arthur has to be accountable for a line of succession. With his father mad and his sister evil, it's far more important where he puts his pork sword right now than his actual sword.
I'm so glad that Merlin and Morganna are finally being paired off.

By this point, when finally she sees his unbelievably powerful magic, it's so going to translate into "sexy" and merlin is not going to want to be used like that even if she's taking her clothes off trying to draw a baby out of him with the powers of a god she can raise for evil...
Does Morganna notice that she is Evil?
Is she evil?
Can she be redeemed?
Does she have to be redeemed?
The back pedalling, is that she gets amnesia after merlin knocks her up, so that she's good again and doesn't know that merlin is powerful or the father of some some magical messiah.
Although she could fake memory loss?
Unless it is Merlin is wipes her brain?
Just pulls out the last 4 years.
And bins them.

they're not going to be backpedalling shit. the writers have said that. they're moving forward and not resetting anything.
Is this that metaphysical concept called "faith" which earthmen cling to when they run out of booze M'k'n'zy?
If this is the last season and they know it, the producers won't have time to return to first principles, and these spuds are keeling towards an endsong of some significance that will look like day one of the regular Camelotion story.

I would love it if things spin out of control, but Uthur's new show is not that good, so he'll be back with his tail between his legs soon enough.
The UK version of free Agents was a thousand times better than what their cousins are producing.
Of course he may have felt free to look for work over seas because Uthur is dead, as we are bound to discover in a few weeks, and there's no room left on the merlin set any more... Except perhaps as a sexy ghost in season 5.

Has this uncle ever appeared before? I have absolutely no memory of him.
Gah, stop it with the old age Merlin makeup. He looks like a Merlin from a elementary school play. And what's with the evil uncle? I know this show is kinda cliche, but come on. I'm hoping (as unlikely as it is) that he's a reverse mole spying on Morgana for Gaius.
Overall, fantastic premiere. It's nice to see a change to the status quo and the friendship between Arthur and Merlin stronger than ever.

The evil uncle is Arthur's nephew and son of Morgause and so is Mordred's half brother in the literature I recall, and quickly googled. How he'll be handled here seems not out of character with the lit.

I just finished watching the OC.
Because of that dragon lady from Nikita producing her ring finger for any billionaire asking for it, the hero of the story had bedded not one, but two women who were both simultaneously his aunt and sister who themselves didn't seem to be related to one another easily, after he was adopted in to this pod of cousin kissers.
