Nintendo NX / Switch Discussion

Oh..... Mario in city... not good. I don't want Mario to be in the real world, I want Mario in the mushroom kingdom.
They're probably too invested in Peach but it would be kind of neat if they had Pauline in the more real world city.

Of course the Sega guy looks gangster.

Mario Sunshine isn't something that should ever be repeated in a game.

I'm curious, what the hell is going to be a launch title? It better be Zelda.

I meant more of the open world nature.

As for Launch titles, I bet Zelda and a bunch of WiiU ports.

Gotta be. I figured that we wouldn't get Mario and Zelda at the same time or in the same season. All the rumours are pointing at Zelda coming out at or shortly after launch.

Ok, there's a lot more games shown in that trailer that they didn't mention earlier - a lot of which are third party, so that's good.

System comes with the Switch, the dock, HDMI cable, JoyCons and the grip, wrist straps, and AC adapter.

Two configurations at launch, only difference is one has a blue JoyCon L and red JoyCon R while the other has just the grey ones. Same price.

I thought after the last Switch teaser Nintendo changed their ways a little and learned from their mistakes.

Nope. I love Nintendo, I love my 3DS and I'll be good with that for another year or two. No real detail of anything. No launch title lists and videos and game prices. It was useless!

I just saved $400 ( System + game + tax).

There will be another event tomorrow with Treehouse where we'll get to see more in-depth with some of the games.

What they showed looked good, but there's too many questions left unanswered. How is the Virtual Console going to work? Do we get Gamecube games? What are the launch titles? What is Retro working on? Is Mario Kart Switch a sequel or an enhanced port of Mario Kart 8 (with a cool battle mode)?

I guess Nintendo is going to answer those questions over the weekend, but I was expecting them tonight. Well let's see what tomorrow brings.

^ ok.

Few notes from the website:
- system has 32 GB memory, expandable with microSD cards.
- the online service is now paid subscription starting in fall 2017 and apparently includes a free monthly download of a NES or SNES virtual console game

$70-80 for an extra controller.

Nope. Nintendo is fucking crazy if they think I'm spending $300 on an overpriced system with overpriced controllers. I'm simply stunned by Nintendo arrogance or maybe it's just ignorance.

Not intentionally being obtuse, but I just don't see it. Everything I saw sold me on it (OK, I was already sold on it, but I'm pumped now).

The standouts for me were the new Mario game and Zelda, though that Splatoon sequel looked pretty good too. This is definitely a day one purchase for me.

Silly me, I was going to say how can it launch a Month before the Switch comes out.

<---doesn't know his order of Months ;)
