Re: Rangers
No one else was doing it, and after awhile I just dropped it, rather than being the only person keeping it going.
Here's what we know, and that is confirmed: Four people, including JMS and Michael O'Hare were in a room, discussing the future of the show. Those four, and only those four, know what exactly was said.
There have been enough speculations on this to merit a Kennedy-type conspiracy book.
Michael O'Hare and the B5 crew parted ways, in a *positive* way, mind you ... There were no hard feelings on either side. In fact, Michael comes back for another episode coming up about midway through season 2, and makes another *big* return in a two-parter in season 3.
The show took a different direction under Boxleitner, who did have a "bigger star name" than O'Hare. This also allowed for potential apperances by his wife, Melissa Gilbert.
So .. did he quit? did he get fired? did they make Swedish Meatballs and sing Kumbaya? We don't know for fact, and probably never will. It's been over a decade since it happened, and it's not like he was the only person replaced along the way. In fact, he was the ... (Laurel/Susan ... Lyta/Talia ... Ko'Dath/Na'Toth-Kellerman/Na'Toth-Brown/Na'Toth #2-Adams) fourth.
It all worked out in the end.

I have enjoyed reading all the past comments and reviews so far for season 1. (What happened to reporting on events of the episode by Jane the anchorwoman?)

Does anybody know what precipitated this change in leads on the show? Do we know if it was already predestined by JMS with this whole prophecy storyline, or was it needed for ratings purposes, to shake up the show for the better?
