Niners Unite...around Babylon 5! - The Lost Threads

Then that means we are going to have an even better time with this one! YOu really should watch S5 more often. There are good reasons why it's not thought of too highly, but it has several episodes that are excellent for rewatching and discussion and so on.

You know...I really admire this episode. It confronts some fairly controversial topics - religion (a fairly controversial topic in the scifi community...and the death penalty/death of personality).
This is a very real reason why I became such a big fan of the series. I was never looking for a show that would sing the praises of religion. All I asked for was one that would not deny it's existence or consign it to the dominion of kooks, bigots and the uneducated. Yeah, that comes in large measure from myself being what one would call "religious".

This is a very good point. Because even DS9, which is the best of the Trek shows when it comes to religion, has Sisko very hesitant to accept his role as Emissary for several years, until he finally couldn't deny it any longer.

B5 does alot better with religion. Which episode is it that they have all of those religious people on the station??? I can't remember - like from season 1, right?

I don't care if it's religion or science or what. I just love a show that asks interesting questions.
To be honest, same here. So long as those questions don't try to come up with ALL of the answers. ;)

Even if you skip the whole Byron arc, the last half of the 5th season rocks!!

Yeah...this is what I really need to do. Watch the last half more often.

I'm alot better at seasons 1 - 4.

There are even a couple of the films that I've only seen once! :o

JMS had the atheist first in line. <g>

Who needs answers, I like playing with the questions!

I'll be back in a couple of minutes. Go ahead and start without me and I'll catch up.

Yes. That's what I thought. Didn't want to embarrass myself with a wrong title though. You guys are the pros! :p
Not I. Jan is far moreso than I am.

BTW... we only see Br. Theo in one more episode, towards the end of S3 - and he really pulls it off nicely!

Okay. I'm ready whenever you guys are. I'm so excited. Been looking forward to this one since it was picked. I'd seen the last one several times...but it's been years since I've seen this next one!

I want to go get a drink. Back in a minute!

Incidentally... like my avatar? I've had it for a long time but haven't worn it lately

You mean there is someone who knows more about B5 than YOU?????? :wtf:

I find that hard to believe!

Jan, later on you'll have to tell me more about yourself. I know that you have posted in here regularly and have been a great contributor...but I don't know much about your B5 'background' other than I know that you love it. ;)

Well, I am still one of the chief Babylonian evangelists. ;)

^ Well, yeah...you are the "Babylon 5 Mod".

Which is precisely why I was so pleased when you agreed to run this thread! ;)
