Coyotes now lead the series 2-1 against Detroit!

Absolutely nothing wrong with this..

After putting 50 shots on net in 3 periods and coming up empty, San Jose finally got one through in the first minute of the OT. Too bad it was on Nabokov. Avs up 2-1 and can you imagine what's going through San Jose's collective hockey minds right now?

You know I really want to say something to you but I can't because you're a freaking mod. I'll instead just do and be on my way.

No Hanson bro, I'm not mad at you, except for the thing, but I'm pissed off at this team. You play that well of a game only to lose THAT WAY. That is the worst ending to a hockey game I've ever seen in my life. What a deflating loss.

Didn't they win game one? Still, Alanis Morisette was a poor choice.

As AJ said below, trash talking is OK and can go a little further here than in other fora, as long as it doesn't cross the line into flaming/ personal attacks at which my mod status is irrelevant.

It can be, it might be; it might also be the moment the Sharks take to rally around and storm out of the gate Tuesday and take control of the series.

Don't dismiss how lights out Anderson played in the Colorado net, though. 51 saves, on a lot of good scoring opportunities. I think I saw on the NHL Network that 93 pucks were sent to the net, with 42 being blocked by the defense.

I was watching the game, waiting for a puck to get by Andy, because I thought it had to happen sooner or later, and it would be on a bad bounce or flukey deflection.

Hopefully, the Avs can come out and put just a few more shots on net next game, I don't think lightning will strike twice.

Cool bit of trivia-- Every series was split 1-1 after the first two games. NHL Network was saying that this is the first time since the league adopted the current playoff format that this has ever happened.

Game 1 wasn't in Ottawa, which now has the curse lot saying that it only affects home games.

And everyone is a poor choice compared to Lyndon Slewidge. He's the best part of any game in Ottawa.

Well, if the Nucks can't stay out of the box, then they're done. Really nervous about tonight and the series in general. It's very frustrating, because we own the Kings 5 on 5, have better goaltending and better experience and scoring up front. This series is a primary example of how crucial it is to be effective and healthy on the blue line.

The fans love it, thats part of the emotional lift for the fans there 18,000 singing our anthem, wow!

Mark Donnelly is a member of the Vancouver Opera Chorus, He’s the anthem singer who doesn’t sing the whole anthem, and when it first happened in the 2002 playoffs vs the Detroit Red Wings, he was a little nervous about the tactic.

But I must confess, when it was first suggested to me in the 2002 playoffs against Detroit that I turn the mike over to you for part of “O Canada,” I was skeptical about your ability to carry the ball. After all, Canadians were not known for showing their patriotism through singing. “O Canada” was for the Legion or Canadian Forces bands. Or “the singer.” Why should I turn the mike over to what might be . . . no sound?
Brian Keating, the Hockey Night in Canada producer, said, “Well, Mark, it’s your call.” My call was to keep the mike. But an unexpected thing happened: I decided to listen to you to see if you really were singing. And guess what? You were! Was this the first time or were you singing all along? I don’t know. I guess I never stopped to listen. (I’ve been accused of that often.) Anyway, I thought, “I’ll give it a shot; I’ll give the fans the mike.”

^ I absolutely love listening to O Canada from GM place. Donnelly is a great singer and I love the bits the fans sing. OTOH, the LA Kings guy couldn't even get the lyrics right in game 3.

Never would have called for Buffalo to be facing elimination so quickly.

Hopefully the series won't end too quickly. Watching Miller and Rask's goaltender duel is one of the real highlights of the first round. They are, without any doubt, the two best goaltenders in these playoffs.

Yeah I agree about Luongo. While he has been solid, he hasn't been excellent. If you compare his recent games to his game one against the Stars in '07, it doesn't quite seem like the same goalie. Now I don't know if it's because of the Olympics, of because of all the pressure from the media, but he definitely hasn't been as awesome as we all know he can be (despite that last save in game one against the Kings).

He wasn't on his game then. He didn't choke like Brodeur and Nabokov, but he was hardly wowing the hockey world in the gold-medal game.

^ Yeah I gotta agree with that. He definitely looked a bit shaky in the gold medal game. He was better then Brodeur, but Miller was definitely better.

I've got to put Anderson up there too. Granted, he is seeing all his shots, but 53 saves in one game and just being consistently dominant is very telling.

He wasn't on his game then. He didn't choke like Brodeur and Nabokov, but he was hardly wowing the hockey world in the gold-medal game.

He finished the tourney witha 1.76 GAA, playing against the best players on the planet. He only let 2 goals in the the gold medal game.

I'd take that performance over his performance last night, any day. Whew. What an emotional rollercoaster that game was, so happy we pulled it out. I think that game showed that it's not how far Luongo will take us in the playoffs, but how far the Sedins will take us.

Flyers are going to eliminate the Devils today. Unfortunately, they'll probably be losing both Carter and Gagne for the rest of the playoffs. We've had some pretty strange luck (both good and bad).
