I'm 2 games down on my wife with 3 weeks to go in our annual football pool. We pick 4-5 games a week, and the winner at the end of the year gets a prize, which this year will be a sweet Pats throwback sweatshirt.

There are a few teams I need to win this week or else I'm cooked.

Mostly I just want it to be Sunday night and hopefully see Matt Flynn with a deer in the headlights look.

They gave McNabb the new deal to keep his complaining about the benching to a minimum for rest of 2010. Then they benched him again, which defeated the purpose of the new deal.

Quite an organization, them Washington Redskins.

I would just like to take a moment and point out that the Mighty St. Louis Rams control their own playoff destiny.

Seattle has games against Atlanta and Tampa Bay over the next two weeks, while the Rams have home games against Kansas City and San Francisco. All of this before the final showdown between these NFC West powerhouses.

Who would have thought we'd be talking about the Rams and possible playoffs in mid-December?

Well, if the Rams win out, they go 9-7.

They could win the division at 8-8, depending on how Seattle does.

So in either case they wouldn't have a losing record, although just barely.

Interesting fact there, Normie: The Rams are one of (I believe) only two teams in history to actually win a playoff game after an 8-8 season.

Regardless, given that they've won a total of 6 games in the previous 3 seasons, I'm just going to enjoy this however it goes.

Joking aside, it does seem like the Rams are headed in the right direction. My dad's a huge OU fan, so it's cool to see Bradford doing so well in St. Louis.

I looked it up and I was right. The only teams who have won playoff games after qualifying for the playoffs at 8-8 are the Rams and the Vikings, both in 2004.

8-8 teams are 2-4 in the opening round. So it can be done.
