NFL Talk - 2010-11 Season

Riddle me this: How was Rodger's TD a TD considering he didn't "complete the process" and dropped the ball after he crossed the plane?

I wanted the Bears to lose. I really did. But, FUCK! 17 penalties?!? 152 yards of penalties?!? And of course, this isn't counting whatever the totals would have been if the forward pass penalty would have been assessed. Any team that posts those sorts of totals doesn't deserve to win.

Honestly...if you told me the three undefeated teams left in the NFL at this point would be the Bears, Chefs and Steelers given Big Ben's inability to keep it in his pants, I'd have laughed in your face.

Nice to see them playing with a fire lit under their asses though.

Wow, Trent Edwards doesn't just get benched, the Bills outright released him.

And the 49ers fired their offensive coordinator. The first sacrificial lamb of the season? Not counting teams that fire their assistant coaches during the preseason.

This is shaping up to be an excruciating season.

The Cardinals have been decimated by losses due to retirement and their resurgent niggardliness, but cannot be dismissed out of hand because of the atrocious division in which they play. I hope the Chargers' now traditional early season crap fest continues, at least until just after Arizona takes 'em out. [Until a few weeks ago, I had Kansas City penciled in as a win. Now? Not so much.] We might well see an 8-8 or even, horror of horrors, 7-9 division winner out of the NFC West.

But it won't be the Niners! :guffaw:

Derek Anderson is the answer. The question is one that will drive you mad.

What's worse is that about half of those 17 penalties were just idiotic moves. I can understand getting a holding penalty here and there or interferring when you know you're burned, but way too many of Green Bay's pentalties were just boneheaded plays. What a frustrating game to watch.

Did Cris Collinsworth ever have a follow up to explain why Braylon Edwards scoring a touchdown was "sweet redemption" for his DUI?

Wow, he really said that?

I'm curious about this too. Google turns up nothing when you search for his name along with "Braylon Edwards" and "redemption". I figured sports message boards would be buzzing about a line like this for awhile.

I googled "Collinsworth" and "sweet redemption," but most of the comments have just been responses on Twitter.

Never forget that Cris Collinsworth is a complete and utter tool, entirely in love with the sound of his own voice.

As a studio analyst, he wasn't awful; I could, at least, tune him out. But as a color commentator, I absolutely cannot stand him. It's a minor miracle that when he was paired with Joe Buck, I didn't douse my television in kerosene and light it ablaze.
