NFL Football 2009

You want to see Jason Brown in a french maid's outfit?

I believe the correct term is "physician, heal thyself" :guffaw:

I need to do my weekly revision of my prediction for the Broncos season: 6-10.

How 'bout them Broncos?!?! I'm struggling to get my head wrapped around this... this is incredible. For yet another week, the second half is all Bronco. I don't know what else there is to say. McDaniels has turned these guys back into a real football team. Orton isn't a flashy or spectacular QB like Cutler, but he gets the job done, and he and the offense do what they need to. The Defense is spectacular. Gone from a 2008 disaster to a 2009 dominating force. 10 points allowed for all 6 second halves. How impressive is that? Denver is now going to float into a well earned bye week.

As ugly as the uniforms were, those W's on the schedule look mighty nice. 12 or more wins this season is looking almost assured. But it is football. Anything can happen and often does.

Man, it's strange having a team other than the Lions be the laughing stock of the league. Detroit got shut out too, but only lost by 26 points. The Titans lost by more than twice that much.

Everyone expected the Lions to suck. Tennessee was thought of highly coming into the season, so the letdown/disappointment factor is worse.

The Lions have been competitive in some of their games, they are playing hard. The Titans are on such a downward spiral. Tight loss in Pittburgh on banner night snowballed into the grease fire on Sunday. Doesn't look good. Collins is on his last legs and VY is a bust.

^There are so many bad matchups every week. The disparity between haves and have nots is bigger this year.

Pats just cut a handful of players, including Joey Galloway, freeing up roster spots. Wonder if trades (3rd receiver?) are brewing before the deadline.

I was excited about Galloway, but he never panned out. Glad they just cut bait and moved on.

At yesterday's Chargers-Broncos game, a member of the Chargers game-day staff fell out of a press box (about 25-30 feet), dying 12 hours later. :(

That's awful. :(

So happy that the Broncos are 6-0. Makes up for the Redskins sucking so bad.

By random chance, I happened to be at the 47-7 snowbowl against Arizona last year and the 59-0 Xmas in October game vs. the Titans last weekend. And I caught one of the players gloves as they ran off the field. This sort of makes up for being a Mets fan the past 20+ years.

The game last weekend is probably my fondest sports memory. I surprised my wife (mild mannered researcher turned cussin' lunatic when the Pats come one) with field level seats, we were right by the end zone where they scored the 5 TDs in the 2nd quarter, the freak snow storm, the throwback jerseys, seeing one of the top 10 beatdowns in NFL history, etc. all added up to an awesome day.
