NFL Football 2009

I am thinking that those people who got stuck with the Broncos defense in their fantasy leagues are pretty happy about it now.

Wow. Green Bay only needed to go ONE F**KING YARD to gain a TD and they had 3 downs to do it. How exactly do you screw that up?! :brickwall:

I kind of wonder how good Aaron Rodgers would look if he didn't have an offensive line which sucked terribly.

Jesus, Rodgers got beat around tonight! What was that, 8 sacks, with him averaging 5 sacks a game up until tonight? He's gonna have a rough season.

Rodgers played a great game under pressure. The guy would put up monster numbers if he had an O-line that didn't act like a sieve. The Packers seem to have made the right call in putting their future in him.

Unfortunately, it might be a question of how long Rodgers is in that future. He has taken one hell of a beating this season. If they don't start protecting him, it's only a matter of time before he starts physically paying for it.

My question is how many more hits will it be before we get one of these:

I'm not sold on Rodgers, but no one can blame him right now. No front line, too many dropped passes and an iffy running game makes it awfully tough. And the crappy defense giving up so many points doesn't help the situation.

As much as I hoped it would happen, I didn't really expect the Packers to win. But I didn't expect it to be that ugly, either. Certainly didn't want Favre to do so well- I swear half the people around here talk as if he's the second coming of Christ.

I for one am sold on Rodgers, but I admit that I don't see him all that often. However, the guy threw for over 300 yds last night while continuously being harassed. Mike & Mike noted this morning he has already been sacked 20 times through 4 games.

Holy balls, how much more does he have to do to sell you on him? He's fifth in the league in passer rating, sixth in passing yardage and he's only thrown one pick all season. Last year, he was a deity of a minor pantheon. Keep in mind that he's doing it all with a broken-down offensive line that is about as efficient as a turnstile at blocking the pass rush and a running back who is not good at football.

I'm surprised Rodgers was able to walk off the field with the beating he took last night. Green Bay's got to do something to bolster their o line or else the dude isn't going to be around long.

Yeah, I know he's done well and I should have faith in him, but there's something intangible that keeps me from doing so. He has the numbers (despite all the problems with the team), but I just don't see him as an effective leader. It took me about 5 years to warm up to Favre, so maybe I'll get on the Rodgers bandwagon eventually.

It tooke your FIVE YEARS? To warm up to Favre? Was it the second or third MVP award that put you over the hump? :guffaw:

As for Rodgers, clearly he's a good QB. But the offensive line is just atrocious right now. A lot of good QBs would look TERRIBLE behind this o-line, but Rodgers is still moving the ball and getting some points. As for leadership skills... it's hard to say. We're not in the huddle... but I don't think they failed to block Jared Allen EVERY play because Rodgers didn't give enough of a pep talk.

Just block for the guy! Or even just run a little more and mix in some playaction. Going one dimensional as early as possible against a quality defense isn't a winning formula.

So apparently Rush Limbaugh wants to buy The Rams.

Good Lord. I'm going to have to sign up for TNZ to express myself adequately on this subject.

Timby seems to do quite well in expressing himself on the current state of the Bears.

If Rush does buy the team, at least there will be no shortage of pain pills in the locker room.

This is no laughing matter!

:scream:

Poor, poor Lions . The only game that they won so far... no one got to see. It was blacked out. Then once they got back on the air -- they lost. Dang it. I really feel sorry for them.
