NFL 2024: Chiefs Kingdom Targets a Three-Peat

Mike McCarthy backs out of interview with the Saints (the last team looking for a head coach), says he will wait until next year. Those teams would likely include the Giants, Titans and Colts, plus the Falcons and Dolphins if they have bad seasons. 49ers could be a possibility, also the Rams if McVay does finally step down to pursue a broadcast booth job.

I have a feeling that a couple of one-and-done's have just been hired. Schottenheimer in Dallas and whoever New Orleans hires.

I don't really blame Schottenheimer for taking the job. He's been bouncing around various coaching/coordinator jobs for twenty years, frankly to mediocre results overall. This was probably his best and only shot at a head coaching gig.

This is the organization that held onto Jason Garrett for almost a decade while never getting out of the divisional round. He's got job security.

Another older coach that is trending downwards.

There's next to no chance Schottenheimer goes one-and-done considering Jerry's history. And probably the Saints coach will be given time, too. They're about to go through some tough years and they just need someone in place while they clear up their cap difficulties which will take time.
 
The 2025 HOF class is a bit surprising. Only four.
