Have to say I'm a bit disappointed the Seahawks didn't hire University of Minnesota men's basketball coach Ben Johnson. No one would've seen it coming.

Reuters should stick to...whatever it is they do. American sports reporting may not be their thing.

Seems like Quinn is their consolation prize. Not that he'll be bad (unless they're going to treat him like a placeholder), but the scuttlebutt is that they put all their eggs in the Ben Johnson basket, though why they didn't try to hire him sooner is a head-scratcher. There's a rumor that they called Mike Macdonald while he was on a flight to Seattle and tried to get him to become their coach instead.

Sounds like it is going to be $9 million a year for six years for Mike Macdonald and the Commanders couldn't match that.

Our local sports radio station talked with the host of one of Detroit's sports radio stations this morning after the press conference introducing Mike Macdonald as the Seahawks head coach, and according to him, Ben Johnson failed both interviews because there was something in his personality that was off putting to both GMs.

If it's anything like what happened with him and the Panthers last year (which led to him deciding to stay with Detroit), Johnson was demanding near-total GM powers in addition to being a rookie head coach.

Something else that came out of the press conference today in introducing Mike Macdonald, GM John Schneider said that after the Seahawks 37-3 loss to the Ravens early in the season, a couple of players came up to him after the game and said, "That's our new head coach." So, Macdonald had been on Schneider's radar for a while now and the job interview confirmed it.

What's the point of the center in Pro Bowl flag football? He snaps the ball and that's it. I saw the defense blitz and the center just stayed still the whole time.

Le'Veon Bell, who hasn't played since 2021, is going to attempt a comeback and wants to play for the Steelers.
